I got mine from Lloyds pharmacy today. In the blurb it says that it works by inhibiting the nerve transmission of pain signals, and reducing local acidity (lactic acid) which improves circulation.
Also says it works using the negative pole and most other magnets are bipolar or positive pole.
Gawd I hope it works!

I could never forget this day, it was the day before New Years Eve the other years and I got period pains like I had never had before. I sent my partner to a late night chemist which was 12 miles there 12 miles back as I was in so much pain and I couldn't take certain tablets with the medication I was on. I never phone when I know he is driving but I had to phone to find out how long he was going to be as I was in so much pain, I was throwing up constantly and I couldn't lie down as it would make it worse. When he got home I was naked  scary i know:rotfl: on the toilet slumped down as I was going practically unconscious with the pain, I was having hot and cold sweats whilst sat on the toilet. I was unable to move off the toilet and I was scared to the point I was going to phone an ambulance as I was out of it that much slumped on the toilet constantly throwing up. My partner managed to get some Pepto-Bismol down me and I sort of came around enough as it stopped me throwing up enough to take the pain killers. The pain killers helped me like you would never believe. When I went to the doctors regarding medication I asked for something to help me with the pain, she looked about 18 and told me it must have been a bug. I left the doctors empty handed and as angry  as I knew it wasn't a bug like I told her. I later went on to get an implant contraceptive put in which has reduced the pain like you would not believe and stops any unwanted kids at the same time for us. It is ideal for a worried parent not wanting to become a grandparent and a painful teenager.

I have bought one of these devices and this is the first month of wearing it.
I woke today feeling like I had a hangover and seeing as though I don't drink wondered what was making me feel like this. Then I rememberd the instructions of my Ladycare which says that some women feel an 'unusual detox feeling' the first month of wearing it. Did anyone else get this?

Sorry i haven't had the chance to read all this thread. My mum bought a magnet for me a couple of years ago. It is Norstar La Senza and costs around £20. This was a complete miracle for me. Attaches to the inside of your pants and you can use it on your back and front. Pain free periods :jA banker is someone who lends you an umbrella when the sun is shining, and who asks for it back when it start to rain.0

Daughter's Lady Care from Avon arrived. £7.95 with £5.00 off code plus a bit back from Quidco. A question; if it's fitted to the pants, will it still work with a sanitary pad in situ?0

I have tried to find the Lady Care magnet thing on Avon but just had an email back this afternoon saying that is no longer available as they are proud of keeping up with the latest trends and hope that I will look at their new products and find something in their new range. BUT I WANTED A LADY CARE!!!! A PAIR OF HEATED SLIPPERS WILL NOT BE QUITE THE SAME!!!!0
