Caravan looks good! Might you be able to site it where it would come in handy later on? (Even just for friends, and friends of friends ;) etc)

I have just shared this elsewhere:

Seen on the Spar shop notice board after reading your comments on jam & marmalade:

"Has anyone an old land-line type phone they'd like to swap for a big jar of whisky marmalade?" :rotfl:

It'll be one of those WI ladies again. At the quiz, some of us were suspicious, because the WI were well represented and there was an entire round devoted to cakes!

Why no round on chickens, or sheep, we wondered? :p

We're just debating where to site it, Dave.

Can anyone with experience give us any advice on how to site it now we've bought it? There's an incredible lack of info on the internet about this. I wonder if people who have statics sited off a park site want to keep a low profile? :o

We're currently unclear as to what constitues our curtilage boundary as the property has a triangular piece of land to the north which may or may not be part of the garden (it's not partitioned off on the plans but does have a wall down it in real life).

The boundary between our agricultural land on the south side and the house seems pretty clear but to confuse matters there's an ancient touring caravan that's already present and seems to have been there for years is just outside the curtilage on the agricultural land  (this would be the most obvious and ideal place to site the caravan but it is also pretty prominent from the road. Having said that, no one seems to have complained about the rusty old caravan that is there already).

Everyone we ask gives us a different answer as to the rights and wrongs of planning law - and I don't really want to formally ask the council....

    Any thoughts...? TIA
  • Sounds like you need another trip to the doc, choille.

Incidentally, I hear that the Northern Lights are good to see at the moment. Have you caught sight of them last night or tonight?
(Obviously not suggesting you go outside & crane your neck backwards or you'll end up in a heap on the ground :o)

    evening all
im pooped ! :o ive just finished sorting the adresses/payments etc on the 4 items ive sold on the bay.... im so slow and not very good at this lark BUT i sold and got over £130 so vet will be happy !!:D
the dollshouse went for over 100 !:) considering i didnt pay for it....:o.

rozee........ i would put the static in a least conspicuos ?? place so it doesnt draw too much attention. you have to remember too that the lorry delivering it has to have good acess AND not across boggy ground or you will be living in a static submarine with a lorry stuck beside you ! the friends i have with one have strong paving slabs on gravel foundations under where the statics "legs" are ,the company supplying it can give you the measurements for siting them. they are adjustable so they will hopefully level it out for you.
im sure there are experts on this more than i on here....:o

Well we went up to the view point in the car - see the curveture of the earth from there - all the stars are out, but no aura & it's fffffffffffrrreeeezzzzzzzzzingggggg.

Really glad you did well Alfie - brilliant when that happens & you have a purpose for the proceeds.
I have to go to the docs again on Thurs, so may know more then.

Better check me sale items then off to my pit - at least it's not a hurricane as it was on Friday/Saturday or felt like it.
  • Hi all,

getting a bit worried about this thing that is going on in the middle east, something about the shipping lane, and potentially it could get closed,
If i remember rightly something like this happened in the 70's and fuel rocketed in price, i can allways remember my father huffing and puffing at the price rising..

We use alot of diesel every week with work, and margins are getting tighter and tighter... and the never ending increases of various insurances etc:mad:

Well done alfie on the fleabay sales:T I actually listed some things on sunday ,well a few scarves:rotfl:,well its a start.:D

choille, sorry you are still dizzy, hopefully the doc can sort it out once and for all on thursday

weather is bloooody awfull here, grey wet damp misty, would rather it frosty than this....lol... and thats coming from someone who hates the cold...

got a mortgage adviser coming out to us on wednesday, i want to know once and for all EXACTLY what the situation is with us trying to get a mortgage on a property....( problem is we allready have a mortgage) so will see what our options are, and see what we could get if we were mortgage free, might be an option to use the money we have saved to pay off our mortgage, and then try and save for a deposit .

do you know what type of deposit do the mortgage lenders need these days? 20%?

Just getting soooooooooooooo fed up now....and frustrated... I am not as fit as i used to be, my energy levels have gone to zilch, and i am afraid, if/when i do get a place i am not going to be able to cope/manage it:o

One good thing i havent had an energy drink for over a week:T( used to drink loads in a day)
