Well, I hide mine behind the messy barn!
One day, before we sell the van, it will all go to the scrappie.0 -

Is it worth bundling it up in the car and driving it to nearest dealers? Its stuff like corrugated iron and barbed wire maninly. There is stuff that will not fit in the car though too, bits of old gates etc. more than enough top fill a flat back. There is a guy advertisng who will remove it, but obviously he charges. It grates to give it away....but then i would be shot of it which would feel very, very good.
What would you all do?
Make a call to local ferrous dealers and ask if they collect. Or at least price up if you deliver to see if its worth it. Otherwise I'd just get rid to make you feel better!.
But thanks for reminder, got several kg of brass that I'll take to scrap yard at some point if it doesnt Ebay0 -

I don't think it would be worth hiring a van or trailer, because we'd need to do several trips and the petrol and hire charge would probably out weigh the weight of the metal i am guessing. Increasingly leaning to pay the £30 to get them to collect it all.0 -
We had men with lorries to take the large & more awkward stuff away. Yes, it costs but it's all out of the way now.0

Metal prices are uber high just now hence all the thieving of statues etc - even plaques off war mememorials & grave stones are being ripped off - Dreadful.
Some one we knopw just filled a van with scrap - old dexion shelving etc & took it down to Cambridge where he has another house - he made over £200 more doing that than selling here.
Get quotes & see if you can get a community run in/collection of scrap organised - phone round farmer friends or put up a local notice - worthwhile doing. Saying that once I'm feeling better I must drag up bundles of ancient fencing wire & take it in to scrappies - old bundles of wire dangerous, mad things to haul across fields.0 -

Just looked at UK prices. http://www.wrap.org.uk/recycling_industry/market_information/market_knowledge_portal/materials_markets/metal.html#introduction
It looks like any stainless steel you have is worth about 5 times as much as ordinary ferrous scrap. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0
