never been to a car boot sale...

oh my word....you MUST !! i bet you will be hooked on what people sell for so little compared to new !!

i have to hear that you have been to one...:D ask about as to whats a "good one" ..the bigger the better....

My car is packed full of goodies (Art Deco Beswick bowl centrepiece, miners lamp, old marbles, postcards, linen, silver plate etc etc but unfortunately no washstand!) ready and waiting to be driven to the local car boot again tomorrow very early. But although you'd get bargains from me hopefully I'll still make a fair profit rather than giving things away as so many do. I almost take it as a compliment when the dealers walk straight past but genuine bargain hunters stop!

    CTC, sorry about your chooks
Lir, and sorry about your cat as well

LIR....so sorry re your feral cat. i know you were very fond of them.:(

barney is doing really well, hasnt even been cribbing ! well not when iv watched.. he is tucking into his feed and loves the chaff type stuff !!:) he has improved in his "look"...he is not so grumpy now ..

[at friends]ive moved all the dutch bantams as 3 pine trees have fell over and the tops are propped up by the oak tree and the middles are balanced/propped on the top of the large enclosure over the chook house and i dont want either to give way ....be chicken fillets if they crashed down... the tree man can get in there and clear them now. then hopefully i can rescue the house and enclosure in one piece... i have the snowballs here now. they are funny !!:)
ive got a total of 28 eggs being sat on by 4 hens at the mo...:o i must seriously look to selling some but i always worry who they go to as i dont want them sold as a novelty then get neglected :(
i will see if they hatch 1st...:D

ive had lots of questions re my BAY goods so fingers crossed they sell ..:o i have to pay balance of my vet bill...:(

oooops...got to reading your comments and forgot i was running a bath !! it was about 1/4 inch from top ......

Re feral, it was a cat, not a parakeet! We have two more.

The realaity pf working with animals.....

You arrange a day out a year in advance...in fcat, bought tickets for today fourteen months ago! You arrange a house sitter and a client to check horses..then the hunt ride past. All hell broke loose here apparantly. I had told them i was leaving poultry out and had a housesitter in yesterday so thankfully field master gave the followers who hoovered here an earful and came back later to count my hens. I will count them myself in the morning. Before you leave and bedlam breaks out we had t deal with the cat.....in fact, she is in a box, we will bury her tomorrow, then big dog is sop excited when we get home she has a funny turn. I have been on the phone to the vet while dh had to go and bring the horses back from the far field......where we graze in sum er, because it was the safest place to turn jorses out with hunt goiong past and know one here all day but one livery client and the housesitter.

Our day off, as so many of you will know all to well, has been stressful and exhausting.

Big dog has setttled down and seems no worse now. Hopefully it was just pne of those things...vet said to leave her quiet rather than pull her in for a check up."
  • Oh dear, lir. :(
And people wonder why us animal keepers don't go away on holidays.
