I don't think my farmer friend was too impressed by my consideration for the ewe as I stroked her head saying "there, there, not long now". But so much easier than a human birth!0

:rotfl::T:rotfl: been there ,done that !!
evening all.
ive moved barney into a lovely deep bedded stable, stack of hay, haynet, water and hes all cosy..:)
i got some D&H over 16 feed, some alpha oil feed [looks like green chaf] and some more barley rings and speedi beet....so £60 later
i tried the over 16 feed and he was finding the bits a bit awkward so i added a drop of water and he woofed it down. the chaf stuff is on tap and at night he has some beet and barley rings to stock him up over night. he actually looked quite perky in his stable !:) he was looking over the door like hes won the lottery...but we will see how he fairs when the novelty wears off....:o
i cleaned out all the chooks [at my friends where i keep hoss's]. im collecting up the 8 "snowball" silkie youngsters tomorow for me to hav here...no idea what gender they are yet...:rotfl: but they are SO white !! we have 3 hens sitting there again ! one is a silkie in with the frizzle male and 2 dutch males so not sure A] if they are fertile and B] what they will look like if they are...:rotfl:
the other 2 are brown silkie and white silkie...so will have another explosion of snowballs .... LIR ????? freebies ?????
i have lots of watchers on my "bay" items , offer for the dog cage at starting price but will hang on ...its a £300 cage starting at 60....
over 13 watchers on the dollshouse plus enquiries re pick up so MAY sell some of it all...:D
anyway im now going to eat.:)

I want wall paper with parakeets or macaws on or both.
Here's my photo of one of the pair of parakeets we had on our feeders a week ago.
Green parakeet by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
OH got in touch with local RSPB person, and apparently there about 8 of them that go and feed on feeders put up by the public behind the Palm House in Sefton Park. But none of our neighbours had seen them here before.0 -
How lovely Maggie! I would like to have bird feeders in the garden but I think the cats would spend their lives standing under them willing the birds to fall
OH has been paid so I am going to go and order my asparagus, I have my eye on wooden staging and a potting table but I don't think my OH will treat me to them as wellTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Always up for tyring a new breed of chook alfie.
Re the fox, i reckon the chances are ctc's dog scent will sort the issue, it works very well for us. My father tok a snap this week if a HUGE healthy fox in the orchard we used to keep our chooks in there.0 -
£160 for a humaine fox trap:eek::eek::eek:
going to ask around to borrow one....
sorry Alfie.... but i got to do something, otherwise my chickens and ducks will end up being killed.....
We even asked about an electric fence, but people have said foxes will still find a way to get in,
They have been kept in today, ( shed is large enough for them to say in, in comfort. but its not ideal....
Right off to finsish my bottle of crabbies:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
You're right. There's very little that will keep a very determined fox out, CTC - even an electric fence.
Is the area around your chicken houses/runs somewhere safe to shoot? It may be worth dropping the neighbour a few quid (or treat him to a nice bottle of something ) to have him wait. As the fox now knows where the hens are it probably won't be long before he's back.
@alfie - Really pleased to hear Barney took to his new feed & quartersFingers crossed it does the trick.
@rozee - If you fancy a bit more lambing I could probably rattle you up a few thousand around here in about 2-3 months time0 -

apparently human male pee around the perimeter works. electric mesh fencing DOES work. we have used it at a friends and even when the battery went flat they never attempted to enter.[we have seen them pass by].
LIR.... YOUR PM'S ARE FULL
and if you would like this eight or part of the 8 young silkies you are welcome ? i can have next lot..or visa versa
im sat here twiddling my thumbs....100 things i COULD do but 100 excuses why i cant be arsed0
