Alfie you really made me think and as I already have a sound metal frame I think I will just replace the wood in my staging instead of paying for a whole new set. I do still really want a potting table though :o

look out for an old marble top wash stand at the tip/carboot. they make excellant potting tables cos water wont "kill" the top and you get a drawer and a bottom shelf usually...much more strongly made and looks cool :D

LIR, I'm sorry, but I can't work out what sort of a feral it was. Are we talking cats or parakeets (I realise that is probably only Maggie). Any way, bad news :(

We have spent the week focusing on caravans. The ac=rhcitect says it'll be cheaper for us to not be living in the house while the build is ongoing and that builders hate building around clients. Do we go for a minging one for £1500? We've seen a couple that are reasonably tidy and clean, but I'm really struggling to see myself living in one for any length. Or do we spend £4-5K for something with double glazing and panel heaters/central heating and be comfortable. It's almost a rhetorical question really. We've seen a fairly nice one with a good layout, but there's a few more coming onto the market in the next few weeks as this is the time when people have to stump up for site fees so if they're thinking of stopping using the site, they have to give notice and get rid of their van now. I think if we buy a decent one, at least we can use it for friends and family for a while too. And then it may have some resale value. Just don't want to shell out £5k when the extra £3K spent would go a way to refurbing the house....

Check your local rags, too, rummer.

I've forgotten what part of the country you're in :o but in some places it's easier to get polished slate than marble.
