I guess it depends how much you would be in each others way but, as you say, £30k seems a large sum. Unless they're literally trying to work around you.
I'm now picturing LIR at her keyboard while surrounded by piles of building material, cement mixer, & builders' cleavages :rotfl:0 -

Yep, we've often done that. Even so it's amazing where the dust manages to get & how long it seems to take to get rid of. It's a bit like the needles on Christmas trees. You think you've found them all & then another appears from who knows where :rotfl:
The worst scenarios for building work when you live in are, IMO, always the kitchen & the loo. Luckily here we have alternatives (as I think you probably have) but building work in those 2 rooms always seems to cause more chaos than in any others.0 -

His feed sounds ok. I would try a feed balancer though. Make sure meals are small, although it feels counter intuitive, to give less over feeding doesn't build weight. Alternative ly, if he is out a lone in the field give the concentrates mixed in a huge rubber bowl with more beet, so that he is eating less hay but the same amount of fibre, and trickle feeding the concentrates.
A testament to the weather is even with my two oldies, and special girl is a poor doer, I have only needed four bags of feed so far this winter, plus the balancer. I'm stil on first bag of grass nuts!0 -

I was asking because I wondered if it wouldn't be possible to live in at least part of the property while tackling another part.
It might be a bit possible
We could leave the annexe totally and concentrate on the main house. Or we could do up the annexe, live there and then do up the main house (but I'm worried if we ended up spending too much money on the annexe, it'd be ages before we could finish the main house), it wouldn't really be feasible to live in any of the other areas as the downstairs is going to be fairly open plan and the upstairs is not that big as it's a dormer. Add into the mix twins who are under two, a boisterous five year old boy and a 6'3" other half....
My main concern is safety for the children. If it were just us, we would be able to stay away from the builders, but the twins are liek living with the most inquisitive chimpanzees in the zoo and they are into everything and have no sense at all. So I think that a static is the safest, most sensible containment option - perhaps with a nicely contained garden area for them to run around in.
Are you clean again, alfie?0 -
nope...cant get it off !! Fingers are solid !! Durrrrr...wear gloves next time ! ....never a next time ....0
-
Oh bloomin heck, alfie.
I think they sometimes use those bandages for life-modelling so, presumably, there's a way of getting the stuff off. It may be easier to get off when it's dried - but what do I know?!
I'd let it dry & then see if I can crack it, soak it & keep whittling away at it.rozeepozee wrote: »It might be a bit possible

Yes, the twins & eldest's (not the 6'3" one)safety has to be paramount, obviously. I bet you'll still need eyes in the back of your head (& everywhere else, too) to keep them out of trouble. It will be a bit of a minefield.
