I love the cubs one as well. that's one laid back labFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

You'll love travelling along the A37 at Cannards Grave near Shepton Mallet then. Someone has built one of these beside the road and in front of an evergreen hedge, so I don't think they can see it themselves!

Well, they make them up the road at West Horrington, but I guess it makes sense that they might be sold at Cannards Grave, as it's the sort of place where all kinds of wheeler-dealing goes on. It would be crazy to put something as expensive as that beside a trunk road for no good reason.
I'm usually there in less than ideal conditions of visibility, so have only snatched a look, but will do better next time....maybe!0 -

I think the thing for me with this kind of thing is I love the idea...and if executed well and well positioned I think it is charming.....I think the position, glazed window and contrived nature of the one I hated was the problem, it really set my teeth on edge. much the same problem with house restoration....I say to the buildrs/architect.....''we undertand there is some artifice involved here in some bits. If we have to have that we want you to think less ''Disney'' and more ''tim burton''.
We are at some point going to have to build somewhere forbats to live and I think we could do worse than build a folly or ''granery'' by Lake Cake, to act as goose or goat house down stairs and bat loft above.0 -
Oooh, nearly forgot to thank alfie for the goose duet video, which cheered-up someone doomed to go Christmas shopping this morning.
As I was saying elsewhere, visiting 'civilization' involved being attacked by 3 gigantic seagulls, which stole part of DW's sandwich and clouted me on the head.
I'm afraid I reacted instictively and exactly as I would have done at home. It wasn't 'correct behaviour' for Cathedral Green!:o
Still, the smaller, well-behaved terns got the spillage. One good tern & all that.....:rotfl:0 -
Passed a cropped field with thousands of Icelandic geese on it - incredible - get that at this time of year.
Very wet but frozen over on the East. Cold getting back to the van & no stove on - the cats looked pisced off at us. I did tell them that they're old enogh to light it, but do they listen..................0
