    lol, exactly.

The prblem is that not being anthropomorphic is often confused (not least by vets) as acceptig animals have no feelings or ability of conscious forethought. The fact is behavioral research frequently indicates otherwise.

what I used to say when in a position to be listened to...''not imagine what you would like in your animal's position but what you would like if you were that animal''.
Let us not forget that we are animals too :)

    exactly.
In fact my f-i-l who is a philosopher/scociologist and prolific writer and I had many ''discussions'' about just this in the past. He was horrified that I felt his cat knew what eye contact was, and where on his face his eyes were, and I had to show him lots of work on the subject and he still looked at me as if I had not been an academic but an animal loony person. He's spent the last year reading this sort of stuff exclusively and has finally come round to my PoV and I bet you won't acknowledge me in the book....despite me having fed him the material for the last decade, mainly via dh in recent years.

    Hve a good time Alfie!

When I got back today I found special girl had removed her rug and haynet from the side of their barn with it. Of course, she'd got right up to the far end of the field before shedding it, and sadly, it looks like all the other horse had bitten her while she was out there naked. :(

Brilliant link - love street art.

LIR - I hate it when folks go, Oh, sheep/hens etc are realy stupid - No they aren't.
My tabby cat follows me & looks at my face for signs, he is the smartest cat as tabbies are. Huge subject.

Pouring down again & inky black out.

Happy shortest day all. Too wet for a bonfire though - gone really mild - twelve degrees!

    !

usualy goes hand in hand with them not really understanding survival off the fittest (have to admit, I'm guilty of the sheep comment, but I think partly because the sheep I've mainly dealt with are the big overbred southern sheep, not more naturally evolved ones. ;)) but yes, its incrrect. a sheep is a lot brighter at being a sheep that I could ever be.

The way they flock is amazing & how they act amongst that fascinates me - same with the chickens & Cockerels - must admit I love having them around me & how they interact with us - it's incredible.
