if nothing else think of the havoc she could cause
siting ours was really hard, we have now id three different sites, two of them road side, as being the best suitable here....least foot traffic, furthest from animals....my favorite being my that path down to the lagoon.....when its fenced and hedged.

i remember when she was little .........well littler !!:o she used to "break out" whenever she saw cyclists passing and join in with thier route :rotfl: trouble was the cyclists thought she was heading home thier route and didnt think to see where she'd come from ! i was forever getting a call to go fetch her from gardens/fields that people had shoved her in...:rotfl:
we upped the anti on electric fencing and it worked:) unless battery went flat:( only to be alerted by sqwauks as she bounded round my garden trying to play with the animogs !! funny thing was she went straight to HER paddock when she arrived yet she knew to go up the road, turn left, left again to find my front gate whenever she got out
ive been known to be stood in the middle of the crossroads outside my house with a bucket of donuts, bread and allsorts of goodies to bribe a HUGE pig to shift herself back to her home ! i even got a mention in our weekly newspaper...:o albeit no names mentioned EVERYONE knew who they were talking about
she hasnt escaped for over a year now :rotfl: i think she just cant be arsed now !!:rotfl:0 -

ooooooooooo NO the hornets are on my house, she is over the road with sheds/trees etc inbetweenItismehonest wrote: » Hornets are huge. At least the boles & skeps kept the bees out of the houses most of the time.
If Mabel is used to hornets I don't think bees would phase her. :rotfl:
what is BOLES and SKEPS ??:o0 -
Had to hunt online for this link.
The boles are the nooks built into a wall to hold skeps which were what bees were kept in before hives.
If Mabel likes honey it might be another good reason to keep them apart
