The wind (and rain) picked up here too. On reflection not the best week to have put our belongings in a barn with some polythene over them!0

Davesnave, I'm beginning to think that vets will be specialising in chickens before too long
Our visit cost us a chook's annual egg supply
Ours already specialises. We're fortunate in having someone so well qualified 5 miles away, but there's a tremendous amount of pheasant rearing, specialist bird rearing etc in the immediate catchment.
The meds often cost pennies (Tylan under £1.) It's the consultation that ups the bill.0 -
curse you ebayers! I've seen soething I really want there now and can't afford after admiring Rhiwfield's stuff and doing a wider search. (no where to store either and it would be CRAZY to put something in storage now, lol ) I might also have found a sink for the downstairs loo though.
The weather makes me divert attention to the inside, and I'm trying to think about something nice to put over the inglenook in the sitting room that is affordable. Its an unusual shape bit of wall, not terribly deep.....between three and four feet I think, but rather wide...I'm guessing 9/11 feet. I know what I'd like but ...well.....what you want and want you can afford are NOT the same thing at all!0 -
The wind is horendous. Massive thaw so burns gushing down torrentially. Really amazing water spouts on the Loch - this happens when the winds hits the mountains & gets forced down onto the water. We've left the car up at the road as we are supposed to get heavy snow falls & drifts later on today.
Dave the hen thing is good that they are still with you & you're off to the vets - it's an expensive do but what else can you do.....
O well.
Must get the place untangled.0 -
Mercifully I am safely at home today as the weather here is really quite frightening  keep safe everyone.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

I bet it is, are you rocking about?
I gre up in places that had a lot of hurricanes, and even now I have to fight the urge to go and fill the bath in high winds: the water supply is never a problem in Uk like it is in some places here water is very scarce...we can at least get bottled here. Also, in the cold, I guess it would freeze!0 -
