Went over East today which was a bit mental thing to do, but well..........you do these things, not so great coming back home after a quick scoot into Ullapool - white out going over Desolation Road & deer everywhere. But we'd a car load of stuff & well needs must.

Realsied at about 3am that we had no house build insurance - OH had realsied weeks back but kept quiet. What with the forecast for tomorrow for severe gales - which we've had already, but when the forecast is warning of severe you just know it's gonna be bad - so scrabbled a few hundred together that was needd elsewhere & got the insurance sorted - phew.
We're up shoite creek as it is, but if the build gets blown away we'd be up the creek but not even have a blubbery paddle.

Came back to an incredibly arrogant message on answer machine from a DR who hasn't paid us for work done ages ago & was billed over a month ago - wants more work done & this & that & then he'll pay us - LET ME AT HIM................

id do the old trick ! tell him u will "happilly do more work but instead of paying us at the end how about giving us £*** amount now and we will give you a discount on the next work " [the thought of a discount to these tight a**ed type blinds them...] then when you get £s you dont turn up...when he keeps ringing just say well, "you pay us for work we MIGHT do for you after weve done this work and we will do it !" :D:D

Scuse my absence, guys. We've moved into a second lot of temp rented accommodation and as usual there's been a hitch with the BT installation. We've not yet completed on the Smallholding purchase. Hopefully within two weeks. 3% juice on iPhone so better end here in case it dies before I manage a post....

Cheers Alfie - he'll get a snippy call tomorrow.

rhiwfield - that tapestry is amazing & quite old I think. I love the printer's block. I have two packeded away that I got from an old printers shop a long, long time ago & look forward to hanging one in my office if it's ever completed.
You want to see the caravan as I went round my fav charity shops earlier & it's like the place has been ransacked & everything is tangled - not sensible in a small space & becomeing somewhat addictive. I do love a bargain. I go charity shopping to relieve stress.

Hope your hens are alright dave.

Hens will be off to the vet this am, now the car is back. I could have gone in the big van, but the vet's village is a total nightmare for parking even ordinary-sized vehicles.

It's more about getting the meds really, as we'll not have enough if lots go down with it. Ozzie definitely looks off and is rattling this a.m. and so is another Dorking. :(

Edit: Just been reading about the winds forecast for today and think you did the right thing on both counts yesterday! ;)

Take care today people, especially those in the north.

Davesnave, I'm beginning to think that vets will be specialising in chickens before too long :( Our visit cost us a chook's annual egg supply

Inside with this weather , so will be using the day to get organised, the piles of linen/paintings classified/researched and sorted into Ebay and car boot.
