hi all, you all seem to have been doing "good deeds"....... well done.
yesterday i was helping get the railway ready for another open day . thier gardener chap was set to titivate the garden when he keeled over in agony and ended up being carted off to hospital.... so i ended up mowing 3 lawns... then owner says could i work today [sat] so i said ok. i had a friend stop last night and he got roped in too.... he was mowing and strimming while i got rail track ready. its all set in 7 acres so needless to say we were both on our knees after 6 hours solid graft but we did it.... in time for a railway club descending tomorow.. i suppose this was a sort of good deed but ...i got paid well.!!0 -
Hello
I hope you are all well
The weather here today was glorious so I got quite a bit of weeding done and the front of the house is close to being finished, just a bit of the drive and a general sweep up to do!
I have traded in my Clubcard vouchers for some bulbs and flowers seeds. Not really done flowers before I am more focused on fruit and veg. On that subject is there anything that I can pop in the ground now apart for fast growing lettuce?
Oh and I really want a greengage tree as I have developed a real taste for them, they are delicious! Do you know if you can get them in mini root stock as we are running out of tree space in the gardenTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Found reference to a greengage on dwarf root stock here:

I love greengaes too. Ours is lovely...but right where the drawing room is going to be.....I want to move it well before then with a digger.
Meanwhile, I'm starting to panic about choices of pear again....I really want them in this season. Its only now the silage clamp next door is full that I remembered why I want them there.0 -

iv JUST sat down.. i went to a carboot sale this morning with my friend [to look not sell]didnt buy much !!:) then noonish we took all the 50s dresses to another friends [where LIR and DH went] to photograph them looking all twee/romantic/fun etc....:D if you could have been a fly on the wall ,youde have :rotfl: as my 2 friends are holding skirt of dress out and on count of 3 letting go so it looks all billowy ! I got legs, arms, hands and heads in shot till we mastered iti have to find a "shot" to go on my cards....
then i came home, cleaned and cleared my spare bedroom so the dresses can all hang up, hoovered the house from top to bottom, washing on and layed a carpet in the bathroom as i havnt seen signs of any tiling happening in there yet...BUT my son is working round the clock at mo doing extra to save up for a deposit on a house [so difficult for the 1st time buyers !!:(] so can live with carpet for now...
iv just collapsed on my sofa amongst a pile of dogs with a cuppa...:).....
then im going to check out the pictures iv taken and set up and send off pic and details for my advertising cards.... if i find one to use i will put on here to see what you think ????0 -

evening all...hope youve had a good day:)
Not as adventurous as yours (!), but like you, we were out watering & clearing up till it got dark.
We took our plants to a garden party in aid of the Air Ambulance/ church, so it was a working social really. Everyone who's anyone from the village was there, the sun shone and it was a very pleasant way to finish plant selling 'events' for this year.
Now we'll have to decide what to ditch in our plant lines. We need to free up time, but I'm a bit reluctant to stop the 'farm gate sales' altogether. They don't make much, but I don't want to disappoint folk either. A few have got used to coming here for the odd plant or two.
Love the photography!0 -
