CTC, know what you mean about christmas. I'm panicking about lack of heat now. If we didn';t have animals I'd be building a nest upstairs to hibernate in.0

That's better, I knew you'd all be up to something interesting, you just don't realise it
CTC Christmas has already arrived in the shops, I've seen crackers and wrapping paper!0 -
I have a funny story about the geese. They have a puddle on the yard when its been raining and they love this puddle.....they sit in it (I think they are pretending to swim on a bigger body of water) and splash and watch the world go by through the gate near the puddle. well, I'm storing some stuff for a neighbour and asked him to put it all behing the Onassis-geeses' puddle. this morning when they went out, they waddled over to their puddle and came to get me and quacked in fury about the stuff behind thei puddle. They are really cross about it. Its going in a few weeks, and they have other (deeper) places to paddle....but its the puddle they like!0

Spooky, we were talking about this type of sleeping bag a few days ago, I am sure the army issue a similar type one, so if they are sleeping, and find they need to grab their guns or go on alert or something, they dont have to waste precious time trying to get out of their sleeping bags ( i think this is right)
I think they look fab....they way things are going with energy prices, they could be a good investment...for wearing around the house....but as you say... you couldnt wear them outside...but i am sure there will be an obscure site somewhere who has developed something to combat that problem.....lol...Work to live= not live to work0 -
Re Christmas, sad to say I've been putting the odd item aside to do a couple of Christmas themed car boots
As well as a Halloween one!
We're quietly getting ready for the cooler weather, boiler serviced, oil tank full, wood stores full, woodburner flue swept, rock salt and cat litter in garage. Started to collect materials for a solar air heater, but reckon it will be at least a month before its ready. And off to Wilko this pm for some insulation film and need to insulate garage water supply better this year to avoid an expensive repair. Spare camping stove and refills ready just in case and will put together a small stock of food essentials in case we get cut off again
Started to pick the first of the pears :j, not bad 18 months after planting
Hens are gorging on surplus blueberries, raspberries and bolted lettuce.0 -
I got cut off three times last winter.
Normally it is once in half a dozen years, that I have to shovel and brush my way back to "civilization".
Almost enough to make one want a high ground clearance 4 x 4..0 -
I could do with a selk suit for life in my caravan right now lol, currently i sleep inside a sleeping bag under my quilt... However if I put a selksuit on right now I suspect I would have to have it surgically removed kicking and screaming come spring time heheheheee0
