I've learned my lesson. In fact, the architect has forbade me any more space in MY garden for the time being, we nominated there because LA never shown inclination to do work before. We we3re going to ask to put wires on the wall but the tenant thinks it will turn into magnum opus if we ask and said now they have done the work we should just do it....because he reckons they won't be back in any of our lifetimes.
We'll obviously ask. I wish it were possible to remove the bit in us that makes us law abiding sometimes though.0 -

yes I can, the french doesn't look hard but the scrolling up and down screen is....I'm sure other french speakers with a bigger screen or able to print the page can, if not I'll do it, it won't take long if I can see it while I type.
edit (tried a new window but can't get this piddly lap top of dh's to do it. If its not done by the weekend I'll use his other one and leave the page open on one)0 -

Hi Alfie, what jumps out at me is that it is certainly not old French. 3 things; the handwriting style, how much space is given to each line and each word. The actual syntax as well is too modern. Finally, the paper / vellum / parchment Is also too modern.

It is a copy of the original - I've seen lots of stuff like this in conveyances. Before photocopiers became part of an office's equipment in the 1950's, someone had to copy out the old documents by hand. The circular stamp says Archive No. (left blank). Some bored junior clerk has produced this. Probably more cheaply than using one of those new fangled typewriting machines. Could I guess it to be copied inter WW1 and WW2?
It seems to be an appeal from one cousin to another not to go to war?
I also note the slightly distant adult use of "Vous".0 -
