The gardening is going well but the savings are not . Sadly I spent money on my CC so instead of our debts going down they are creeping back up. Need to get tougher on myself and start clearing the debt so I can save up for my dream!
On the upside though the seedlings are all up apart from the cucumbers and I am planning on getting another load of seeds in in the next few weeks! Glad to see you are all doing well!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Morning all
Rummer -great to hear that your seedlings are all appearing :T I have loads yet I haven't set -mind its a good job as we had snow yesterday  ... so Im glad a held off on starting
I have never had a CC -wouldn't dare :rotfl: .... Im sure you will be able to make a start on your "dream fund" soon ....every little bit will take you a step closer to your dream-we can all encourage each other on here ....

dont know where this week has gone....
MRSM you have been busy and you are very organised...lol... maybe you should start a thread about organising..lol...
Runner.....dont be mad...you spent on your CC...we all have times where we have done this, lets hold each other's cyber hand and see if we can help each other put some pennies into our funds...
update .. well iam was VERY pleased... i managed to sell loads of things to this guy... so i can proudly say i have added £500 to my fund..he bought more of my vintage collection than i thought...lol..
sorry MRSM if i made it sound as though i was selling plants... i will be in hte future.. i will be selling any of my surplus etc..
also been adding some loose change into the pot...only a few coppers each day, as i say it doesnt matter if its only 1p...lol... it WILL aadd up, all be it slow... but it will add up..
hubby has talked me into waiting until the better weather has def arrived before putting the trikes on ebay... which on refection is right as we might get better money..
still doing the daily scratch cards, and my pile of aluminium cans is growing too:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
Afternoon everyone
:T Cooltrikerchick..thats some great addition to your fund :T
I can see what your hubby means-once the dry warm days are here those trikes will seem a lot more appealing
I don't know why I assumed you were selling plants this early:rotfl: ..numpty...
Well I got another 4 slips off of my sweet potato yesterday -so i have set them in another pot in the bedroom and left the potato on the radiator as there are more on their way :j
I have more tomatoes through, a couple of aubergine and the peppers/chilis are slowly making it.
I also set 1 of each of my 6 varieties of cucumber -might be a bit early -but I will still have time to replace any that don't germinate etc
Hubby has been out in the nasty damp weather and put some more compost in my big tubs-so hopefully "IF" we get any decent weather this week why he is away I can still get out there and get some more bits n bobs done:D
Not sure if I'm going to set anything else just yet -but next on my list are the melons I think..and IF I can get out this week I want to get my scorsenza and beetroot set outside and a few other bits that want to go straight out rather than being started indoors ..
With hubby being away for 4 days this week our spends will be even less hopefully -although if he can he is nipping to ASDA whilst in the uk to get a supply of bread flour, coffee and cheeses -so there might be an initial out lay but it will save me loads... bread flour is €2.19 in the NAAFI -68p back home... so its spend now to save more:rotfl:
right -enough waffle ..off to get my paperwork updated ...determined to keep track of germination rates, yields etc -so in future years I will know what NOT to bother with and what to set more of
hope you are having a great weekend:D
ooohhhh and our tin gained about 86g this week:rotfl:

I really must start putting some money into my fund! I feel I am so behind you guys.:(
At the moment it is all outlay as we have spent the weekend putting rabbit-proof-fencing all round the allotment (buried a foot deep and a foot outwards under the surrounding paths).
Tomorrow I have a day off work to get my onions and possibly potatoes planted and to move the raspberry canes from the garden down to the allotment.
I have been trying to think up ways of getting some money into my daydream fund without success. I often sew for extra cash, but at the moment I spend so much time working to pay off debts I have no time to get into the sewing room.Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. Morning all
Stitching witch -If you think about it... every little bit you pay off your debts is still taking you 1 step closer to your dream -so perhaps to start with you could track the amount you have paid off instead...then once you get a bit of time to yourself you can start to earn a bit for your fund.. but I bet at the moment you are paying off more in debt than you could earn sewing etc :T
We have things being paid off too -hubby has about 3.5 years left on his extended service in the army -by then most of our debt will be paid off (apart from the mortgage) but we can use some of hubbies lump sum to clear the last off -so for now Im saving rather than paying extra off our debt.... I could garuntee that If I paid more off our debt something major would go wrong and then we would have to try and find extra money to sort it  -this way we have a safety net...
Anyway -on the planting front -I got up this morning to frosts  so Im glad I haven't got anything out there yet...inside my leeks n celery are on their way
and my sweet corn are coming along nicely -I have set 10 -but think I might set some more , I will find a gap somewhere to wedge them :rotfl:
Today I might gety a few more bits set -but still holding off on the beans, peas and squashes....
right better get off...keep up the good work everyone :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Thanks for the encouragement MRSM. I just get overtired working 7 days a week and often feel if I drop the weekend job I could be myself for two days!
Admittedly the £100 (net) for two mornings work comes in handy, but i could make a stunning corset in two days and make £100 profit. Pity I don't have enough orders to do one a week!!
Onions and raspberry canes planted today so the potatoes will have to wait until next weekend.

Morning all
shhhhhhh -it looks like we might have a dry day today, although it was frosty when I got up this morning
soooooo glad I have nothing ready to go out yet
. Im hoping to get out later and do a bit more attatching strings to arches and tubs etc. Hubby is away until friday evening -so I have started blitzing the house this morning..so I will deserve some "seed time"
..
The cucumbers are starting to come through already -so I think it will be some salad leaves set later and a few more brassicas straight into the tubs outside and quickly covered with fleece
Stitching witch -that sounds like some talent you have..I wish I could sew... I can x-stitch like a demon -but normal sewing comes out looking like road kill :rotfl:-my mum used to be a seamstress many moons ago and made the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding -somehow I didn't get the gene  -I think when I move back home she may have to give me some lessons:D working 7 days a week  god that must be knac*ering... hopefully once you get your dream you can spend more time at home, growing and cooking all your own goodies and sewing up a storm :T
hope everyone is doing well-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Well gang, I had a brainwave at work today.
I currently pay into the company Sharesave scheme. At the end of three years the cash will be converted into shares which I then sell (hopefully at a profit, but never a loss as the minimum is set before it starts).
Well.... I have been paying £50 a month since October so have £300 saved. To me, this looks very much like a daydream fund! :j I'll update my signature to reflect this.
DH has been off sick, unpaid, since May last year but when he is fit enough to return to work I can give up the weekend job. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but it's been one long tunnel!!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
I have given myself a stern talking to and I am organising a way to pay off my debts so I can start saving properly! Fingers crossed! Thank you for all your support, threads like these really help keep me motivated when things are tough!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
