oooo he had a fast bike then:D

well i have had to come in now from having a lovely day in the garden just tidying things up etc.. let the chickens and the ducks wonder round the garden so i have had chickens picking up all the worms and bugs after me...lol..

and then it happened:mad: the dreaded neighbours came home with their irriating kids who just scream for the sake of screaming.. another reason why i need to get my Daydream fund total up...

seen a nice smallholding today on ruralscene ( ye i know i shouldnt be looking..yet..lol..) well when i say nice one of the cheapest i have seen around here for a long time

    here it is

Love the trikes, though as my knees suffered terribly when I came off my bike several times as a twentysomething, I don't think I could face one now. Must be environmentally-friendly though, and nothing beats being out there in the environment, rather than coccooned-away in a car.

    Afternoon all

Hope the challenge is going well :D
I have been having a tidy up outside -when the weather has let me  -so at least all the canes are cleaned and ready to use again, the tubs stacked and the crates of compost in the brassica tent are covered with fleece for a few days :T -so once the weather gets a little drier/warmer It will be all systems go :p
I got hubby to pick up some more milk today -and Im almost sure that we now have plenty of everything we need to last us for the next 8 days (when our new month starts) -and after looking in my purse -I have the €40 I tucked at the back the other day and €29 in the normal part -so that should mean the €40 I get on friday should be able to go to the fund -plus the other €40 in my purse :D .... and when I get my housekeeping on the 25th -that will all go straight in to the savings account too;)
I have also managed to save myself about €50 on buying a hose pipe -they are so expensive out here  -but my nextdoor neighbour only uses hers to fill the dogs paddling pool occasionally -so she told me I can use it and she will just yell me when she needs it :p -So im going to give her salad stuff as and when she needs it during summer -there is only her there for the next 8 months so it won't make any difference really :T it all helps doesn't it -plus it will help her out as she won't have to nip out for salad etc as she works full time and the closest shop is about 30 mins walk from us -and thats the NAAFI that costs a fortune  -so it will work nicely for both of us :p

hope everyone is doing ok....and has lots of veggies under way :D

Hi MrsM .. nice of your neighbour to lend you her hosepipe... wish i had neighbours like that.

i have been very busy in work this week so havent posted, i have been adding loose change into my pot, plus i had my £3 luncheon vouchers through for doing a survey i will have to gather all my money off coupons ready for my next big shop, and split hte saving between my purse and hte saving fund:rotfl:

my tomato seeds are doing well on the window sill, and hte cabbage and lettuce seeds are popping up nicely in the greenhouse too.

been really warm here here today, so good job i dont work too far away, so i came home to open the greenhouse door for a few hours.

i also need to go back and to our weekly budget, where we used to take x amount of money out of the bank every week when hubby's wages went into the bank, and only used that... started to slide a bit and use the debit card, which can we loose track on how much we spend..

the farm auction is on again this saturday, and i have some lovely boilersuit style overalls and thigh length wellie boots that came into work, so i am going to put these into the auction, and what ever i get will be added to the fund:D

just a quick update.... hubby forgot to pick up the box with the things to sell at the farm auction yesturday:mad: si will take them myself to the next one in a fortnight..

won £1.10 on the free scratchcards so my total is over the 310 to withdraw, but i might leave it a bit longer so i can add a bit more to it...

I have started saving our Aluminium Drink cans again, and the stash is building up nicely...not loads of money but its suprising when you weigh them in that extra £5 - £10 all adds up.

Yesturday i started planting my runner bean seeds and i sowed some more lettuce and cabbage, i ordered brussel sprout seeds of Thompson and Morgan ages ago and i still havent had them, so i will ring them tomorrow

been putting the loose change into the saving pot, so that is getting heavier by the day...

i know money is slow going into the fund at mo.... and at this rate i couldnt even afford a solicitors letter ..lol.... but in a few weeks when the plants are ready to be sold etc...and when i managed to sell things it will start to grow nicely...

    Hi Cooltrikerchick

We have had a busy couple of days -taking advantage of the dry weather -hubby has been busy...

So -he has built my coldframe-which is bigger than I thought :T
    coldframe.th.jpg

I got some seeds set into the brassica tent.. the brussels are in the pop bottles to keep them nice and tightly packed -loose compost means you won't get tightly formed brussels -plus it means Im not wasting space as I can grow leafy greens around them without disturbing them ;)
I also got chard, culy Kale, spinach, broccoli raab and early purple sprouting broccoli set ...just 1/2 a tub/crate of each -once they are through and about 2" tall I will set the other half of the tub..by the time they are ready we should have eaten the first half and can set more and so on :p
    netpots.th.jpg
Hubby used some of the spare poles to extend this arch so it reaches over the doors -so I have a tub in the corners -making the most of any space I have :D
    doorarch2.th.jpg
Im growing a cucumber in each bucket -up strings and making use of the arches inside -to take the weight
    tentbuckets.th.jpg
To say I have more structures this year -I seem to have loads more room  -not that there will be any space by the time I have done ;)
So at least things are underway -even if there is no greenery to be seen yet :o ....
On the savings front -we have added another 77g to the sealed change tin this week and I have finalised that I will be able to put all of this months housekeeping away plus a bit hubby owes me -so €600 will go into the savings account this month  :j
Im hoping to get loads more seeds set later today -upstairs in the spare bedroom... Its getting busy now isn't it :rotfl:
I can't wait to start getting my fresh salad stuff out of the garden -

    HI just another quick update....

i have got some stock being sold in work today, so depending on hw much they buy i will be adding % of it to my daydream fund... this will be classed as my wages in work. so hopefully it will be a good amount. i do have a credit card i want to clear before the interest free runs out too, so need to put a chunk towards that too..

someone from another forum is going to send me some plants from her garden etc for me to sell on, and the money to go to my fund..i send her fabric...lol..

so will let you know how much i am adding later...

    7. broccoli raab
    8. grunkhol
    9. spinach
    10. mini caulis

    Evening

Well -we have had snow today  luckily the only thing outside are brassica seeds set at the weekend and they are in the net tent and under fleece -so they will be fine :D
My seeds are now on their way through -all the determinate tomatoes I set on the 18th have made it through in 6 days :T and the salad leaves I set have started coming through :j ...and I have also set the leeks and some celery Im going to give a try -fingers crossed....
Hopefully I will get some more seeds set later....
We picked up some more compost this morning -so the plan is to get the big tubs filled at the weekend (weather permiting  ) then I can get the strings etc set up ready for the beans and peas -eventually...

A bit more change has gone in the sealed tin.. and all the housekeeping has gone into the savings account:T -and hubby is away for 5 days next week -so thats a bit less to spend on food there then :rotfl:

Cooltrikerchick-hope the plant sale went well ;)
