Not sad at all. It's all about being in touch with nature; something more people would benefit from, did they but know it!0 -
I've been away from home for a few days, leaving the lodger with strict instructions about watering the pots in the kitchen. I've come back to find almost 100% germination from my tomatos and I think I have more lavender seedlings than I planted seeds!!
My peas are looking great too and will be going outside soonish. I like ceeping a close eye on their early growth indoors though.
It's lovely to come home to find new growth and I'm really looking forward to eating the produce later in the year. It's the first year that I've actually grown much so it's all really exciting. Previously I've done tomatos but moved house in June and had to lop the tops off to fit them in the car, then neglected them while I tried to get the house in order and overall didn't get much fruit. I've done indoor peas before but I think I killed them with too much sun in a conservatory and not enough pot space.0 -
Evening all
Well we actually had another dry spell today  -so hubby has got another arch built :T 6 down 3 to goand I have had a bit of a tidy up-and dragged some of the bottoms from the troughs in to stand my pots in-so tomorrow I can get started on setting a few seeds :j Im going to start off with peppers n chilis as I know they can sometimes be a bit slow to germinate
-I will also get some brassicas underway -now the crates are filled and under cover. hubby is going to put my cold frame together this week to so I will have somewhere to harden things off....
on the savings front -my sealed tin has gained another 111g this week-todays top up shop only came to €11.32 -so things are looking good for more savings this month :T ...although I need to go in search of a decent hosepipe this week -Im NOT having the faff I did last year with just a watering can  ...

Are you only doing the one scratchcard? There is a free one on Take a break and it doesn't belong to the St Miniver group. I'm saving up for some more hens so all winnings go into that pot. I also add coupon money when I've been to Asda or Tesco.(once a week) It's only a small amount but it will grow in time....I hope.0 -
