If I can work out how to get an imagine into this computer I'd appreciate feed back about garden design and veg garden design soon. I just can't work out how to do tha;)t yet.

When can I move irises safely? The ones we put in a nursery bed dug out have a ''forever'' place ready for them, but they are growing away now, so I guess it would be stupid to move them now? Even if I move a big chunk of earth with them? It seems tortuous to wait till the end of summer though!

Sketches usually photograph OK, and you can upload them to Tinypic to share here.

We had a visit from the Outlaws yesterday and, strangely enough, they brought our irises down here from their garden, where we've had them, anticipating the move. So, growing away or not, I shall be planting ours today. :)

    It's a bit blowy out there .....

Alfie, it's called 'distraction therapy,' and it works, but I understand that you can substitute pleasant natural sounds, like bird calls or waves breaking on a beach, for the whacking yourself on the finger bit....:D In another place I wrote about the efficacy of this in relation to my dental treatment, but I was branded a 'dirty old man,' the distraction in that instance being visual rather than auditory. (She is a very good dentist.);)

My dentist has a tv screen above the chair you sit in. It makes you wonder if additional movies could be a popular option.
My dentist certainly looks for new ways to make money all the time. ;)

If you had my dentist, you'd not need movies. :)

I don't think the house on the hill was too dear at all - I think it'll suit someone down to the ground!

We have the Blackisle Highland Show - which is huge & they have the wool tent. The British Wool Marketing Board take part & have demos etc. It's on eover two days too but has gotten a bit like a stall holders thing ie too many folks selling imported handbags sort of thing. But the show is brilliant - camel racing, sheep shearing comps, mad biker antics etc - I think the whole of the Highlands & Islands go. I may enter some hens this year =- they have livestock comps - rare breeds etc. Really good to go & see the animals.

On another note - I needed a VAT receipt for egg cooker etc so I contacted seller after about 6 emails they have asked me for a fee for printing one & posting one to me. They are affiliated with Amazon & are bitter - obviously! What a waste of time & energy & weirdness onthat one. How can some people run a business beats me.
Very windy again & rain lashing down, so we may go off for a few hours - like a bomb!

So the guide price was about 30% under the price fetched. That's not unusual on rural auction property. My guess is that someone will now sit on it, wait for the market to improve, and then make it just habitable for a quick sale. Mind you, they might have a long wait! :rotfl:

by that time there will be no road to the property:rotfl:

in a normal situation yes i agree with you choille, it is a very good price, but the state of the road, its collapsing away down the embankment... and when you are driving you are literly within an inch of the edge:eek: and there was big pot holes by the edge too.....lol...

I know what you mean about the imported stuff being sold....I think it should be british made/local crafted stuff being sold in agri shows etc..

Alfie you will have to take some pics of the chicks you have off LIR.... i love little chicks
