I'm attempting to catch our moles. So far, they are not playing to the rules!
One day I'm going to disappear into a gigantic crater trap in the garden, dug by an army of moles. :rotfl:Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

as a child ,as a family we had guinea pigs....i love em.. i remember my dad bought a garden shed for his tools etc and my sister and i comandeered it for GPs ! we had runs all over the lawn and theyd go out daytime ,shed night time. JIMPY is the 1st one i can remember. a big fat golden lump ! they seem to be smaller these days?? or maybe they SEEMED bigger cos i was small !!:) i kept GPs up until 4 yrs ago . i love thier vocalness....
my poor dad lost "his shed" on many occasions [he still has same shed so over 50yrs old and still there !]. i bought my welsh cob foal when i was 17 and didnt tell my parents ! i had him in a field with a friends foal so just claimed i was helping her ! after 3 months, one sunday afternoon i cleared out "the shed" and cut the door in half and sneeked foal in the shed and called my parents to come look...... my dad just looked stunned [not sure wether it was his chopped shed or a foal looking at him tho!:rotfl:] my mum just said "i knew you were up to something!" and walked back indoors. thus began my bringing home animals in bulk !! i always used the line "if i hadnt had it, it would have been put down" knowing my dad would sympathise !!;)
the joke was that i literally couldnt go anywhere without an animal coming back with me... i went on a school trip [11yr old] to petticoat lane market and i spent my money on a rabbit !! came back in my school bag?? miss petty lived for years...
i used to bring neighbours dogs home [5-7yrs old] and tell my mum they wanted to live with me :rotfl:. she had to take them back:o
also when the forest ponies had the freedom of the villages [now cattle gridded] i used to open our gate to let them in....again when i was 5-7 yrs old !! im amazed that my mum and dad survived mentally with my antics !!:rotfl:. none of my 3 brother/sisters had this trait tho.....
my friends calling for a cuppa soon and i have to go fetch later "big dog" that i look after when they go away.
i HATE being incapacitated....very frustrating but needs must or i will be out of action even longer if i push it:)0 -

I don't like killing things, except for food, but sometimes you have to.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Our mole has lurched back into action as well, : straight after that rolling left everything looking so smart too! Still...he's in the field. If he stays there he's ok, despite making the most mountainous molehills I've seen for a while.....maybe he has a temperament like mine!0

That is great that you only have to wait 1-2 years, where we are it is up to 10 years
As for piggies we currently have 2013 are mine and the rest are foster pigs that are staying with me until I can find them new homes.Suffice to say I love em

Ha! I'm going to do some too for companion planting as well as poached egg plants.
I have a gardening book & the author stated any gardener can't have too many marigolds but that many on my decking would create a jungle:rotfl:!!0
