Good morning all. Sad to say I have a hangover this morning so not much going to happen in the next hour or so lol. I know its self inflicted but we had such a good time. It was nice to see hubby enjoying himself and not putting a brave face on things.
On a gardening note, we tasted our first ever home grown strawberries yesterday and they were so delicious!!! Much juicier than the shop bought ones. Next year I am so growing loads and loads of them!!
hope you are all well and enjoying the changeable weather that we have here xxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Well done on your strawberries. I've just picked our first two and we had one each - how romantic!
I've tried to convince a couple of DS3's friends to come and help at the allotment. No need for gym membership or fake tan, I'm offering the real deal and good, organic food at the end of the season. Funnily enough, they all had "more important" things to do. That's okay, I'm topping up my tan on every visit.
If someone could explain to me how to upload a photo I'll post a corset pic. I don't want to hijack this thread with sewing pics so where would you like it to go? - unless you all want to see it of course!!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. can't help with the how, but wow I'd love to see it! I;m a budding sewing enthusiast myself. Well, I can turn the machine on and go in straight lines!:Dsealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -
Hi all
I found Imageshack the easiest to use..its free and really simple...
you just upload the pics and then it will ask if you want codes for forums, websites or email and give you the appropriates code to copy and then paste on here in the "go advanced section"
hope that rambling makes ense-if not just give me a yell-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
MRSM - do I use the code for forums or sites? I'm a bit of a technophobe!
The size says 240x320 33kb. Is that the right size to use?
I'd much rather use my £900 sewing machine than this £300 laptop!!!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
Hi there
If you pic forums it will give you a small pic, but once you have posted it -if we click on the pic it should show us a full size pic....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I'll just have to hope this works - fingers crossed!
This corset took me two days and I now have two more cut out ready to sew. Shame there's no power at the allotment or I could combine both my favourite tasks!Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
It worked :T

Wow stitchy - that is gorgeous!!! is that you modelling???
Well we now have an external tap!!! Hubby and my dad bought one of those kits and did it yesterday although we managed to fit in a trip to casualty as well. HUbby was screwing the last part in and the screwdriver slipped and stabbed into his hand. But he's okay = got cleaned up and sent home with a plaster. But the main thing is that we don't have to keep using the kitchen taps or disconnecteing the washing machine to use the hose!
Thanks about the strawberries - first fruits from the garden - first of anything edible from our garden and the most delicious thing I have tasted in a long time - looking forward to tasting the rest ofthe produce. We have had herbs but I don't count them as I've grown herbs in window boxes for years just now they are in their own raised bed!
Right am off to tackle laundry mountain - it keeps raining here but i'm going to take a chance, if not its on the clothes horses in the upstairs bathroom. But just going to crack on and get it all done today!
Hoping you are all well and the weather is good with you. Speak to you all soon xxxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

Evening all
Hope everyone is well...
Bonsibabe -an outside tap is a godsend isn't it!!! last year I made do with a watering can and the outdoor tap (don't know what I was thinking :rotfl:) -got a hosepipe this year -they are normally really expensive out here-but I got one on sale for about €5 :T.....its making life soooo much easier...
Its been raining most of today -but its that nice gentle constant rain that will do the veggies good -not the belting it down stuff that batters everything
We nipped to the Naafi earlier and PLUS (another supermarket) -but I was very restrained and only got the few bits we needed and a couple of things we will need next month or so (so grabbed them whilst they were on offer):A:rotfl:.. I picked up 4 of the huge yankee candles that are normally €17 each -they are sometimes on offer at 2 for €25 but today they were 2 for €22 -I got right round the naafi and then took them back :j-Im not allowing myself any more until I finish off the ones I have ... then hubby said if I want he will get me them for my anniversary, birthday and xmas-so that will save me some pennies.
I couldn't bring myself to spend THAT much ..when that could be added to my fund at the end of the month if I don't use it for groceries ..cor at this rate I will be refusing to spend anything at all
Nothing much needing doing outside at the moment so I have been sat x-stitching mums xmas pressie.. we are going back home this xmas so I need it done.. I have even planned a frugal xmas...
- hubby is claiming the ferry and milage through the army -so we will get that back
- Im taking my £80 of Iceland stamps with me so we can contribute -
- Going to use the rest of that money we get back from iceland to stock up on bread flour, cheese, nescafe and some other bits to bring back here -will save us a fortune
- taking plenty of beer and wine back with us -hubbies fave works out at 20c for a 1/2 lt bottle his fave red wine is €1.29 a bottle -taking plenty back for my brothers too
- and of course Im hoping to make a few more bits for the nieces to save buying things
.... Im going to be taking full advantage of all mums home grown veg too -she grows the nicest cabbage EVER
well -enough rabbiting on -hope everyone is well and having a good weekend ...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
