I gree with Soo no point arguing with him. As a point of interest look at his old feedback on his selling account and there would appear to be problems with non payment etc (2005). He is just trying to screw you most probably. If he was really dissatisfied he would have returned it. As it stands he will make a very nice profit probably double his money with a more desirable face on the watch (which he wants you to pay for).

Honestly I agree with Soo. Just tell him in English that yes you didn't agree to any repair and will only accept a return. Actually if you want to stall him even further, tell him you want him to translate the document for you!

Any idea what the different reference item numbers are on that document? One says 76080 and the other is 79174. They *could* be two different watches. In which case yours is the first as that one mentions the 'white face'. I don't know what is meant by an 'Ind. nr'. well- nr is short for number but Ind. I've got no idea about.

Anyway, here's my bash at it:

    Rechnung- invoice
    Aufarbeitung- refurbishment
Reglage- ???? dunno cos some of this is too technical
WD Prufung- Prufung is testing, no idea what WD is
Zifferblatt weiss rom- clock face, white but no idea what 'rom' is, sorry
Zeigerspiel- refers to the hands on the watch

Hopefully you'll get the bit at the end- the first is the total without VAT, then with VAT calculated (Mehwertsteuer) at 19% and then the final with VAT.

    Thanks for everybodys help/advise.

I've emailed him now and stated that since i didn't authorise the repairs i'm unable to accept the watch back as it's been altered by a third party.

I also said that if he wishes to pursue the matter i've asked him to raise a Paypal dispute however i'll only be prepared to refund the purchase price.

I also put at the bottom that i know he's got the watch listed on ebay Germany and the price he has it at.

Hopefully that'll be the end of the matter.

Is there a website address on that invoice? Cant see it very well but maybe you could run that through whois maybe he repairs items himself and the quote is from his own company or someone he knows? Just a thought.

edit..http://whois.domaintools.com/die-uhrmacherin.de Any details look familiar to your buyer?

    One point.

Grab a screen shot of his auction in case things turn nasty.

If you'd just taken bank transfer, then none of this would have been any sort of issue.

How did this one end then?

I asked the questions we agreed (about why the strap was listed as 'almost perfect' and how old it was) but I never heard back from the guy.

    Hi,

I sent him the below email:-

I have now view the receipt and to be honest you have now carried out
material alterations on the watch which i clearly didn't authorise.

I would be happy to accept the watch back however would only be prepared
to refund the original purchase price because the watch has been altered
by a third party which i didn't agree to.

If you wish to go down this route could you please raise a Paypal
dispute and I'll answer the dispute via Paypal.

However I'm aware that you now have the watch listed under your German
Ebay account Item number: 380118812058 for EUR 1750.

    And his reply back has:-

you should start a business as detective.

    You are very poor ,

    shame on you.

Looks like that the end of the matter as the 45 days are now up.

    Thanks for your help.

Again that a funny situation. His UK Ebay account has got private feedback therefore i would have thought he doesn't want to leave bad feedback in case i leave him bad feedback.

Whats the timescale for leaving feedback.
