The mark the guy is complaining about is next to the 4 o'clock.

If he's a watch dealer, are you 100% sure that this is the same watch? What were the photos like on your ebay advert? Could you post those too?

The metal is scuffed in the top left (before strap links) and some scratching on the metal near the two o clock position...

What I find strange is that if this person was SO bothered about small scratches on the face, why did he not send you questions before bidding, asking these things, and asking for close up photos? Buyers should know very well that if it's not to their liking, they pay return postage... My first hunch is that he's a dealer and is trying to maximise his profit to sell it on.

If he sends a copy of any receipt/quote, make sure it is signed and dated, as otherwise he could send you any quote.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Sounds like another classic scam.Did you take photos of the watch before you sent it ?Did you note any serial numbers ? He may have used parts from inside the watch and is now trying to send it back on the basis of the 'mark'.Actually the watch in the above picture looks in poor condition for £1,000.

Hi, just found your watch on ebay (don't worry I won't disclose your ebay ID!).

You describe the watch as having no dents on the face. I wouldn't describe the slight blemish as a dent, and tbh if it goes to a paypal dispute I don't think they would agree that the watch is SNAD.

If it were me, I would tell him that you believe you described the watch accurately in the listing, and you are not willing to pay for what you believe to be an unneccessary cosmetic repair.

If it goes to a dispute, then I think it highly unlikely he will win - however in the unlikely event that he does, the worst you can expect is to refund, and get the watch back. Judging by your feedback, you can afford to get a neg and can also counter it with a factual reply if you do.

The only picture I can find of decent quality is below before I shipped the watch. Another thing to note is he did ask a question before he bid which is the following:-

Hi, are there any scratches / chips or flaws on the face on close inspection ? Thanks

Which i replied back:-

Hi, no scratches or chips/flaws on the face.

I asked for pictures yesterday of the mark and yet it has taken him a day to send me them. Do you think he has swapped the dial?

I would agree with the above (highlighted). Tell him you believe you described the watch accurately and will not be offering a refund or money towards an (unneccessary) redial. If he wants to institute a claim, then let him.

None of this really matters.

All this is out of the sellers hands, paypal and the buyer will be making all the decisons from now on.

This happened to meon hotukdeals when i first started selling, some "honest" member with high FB asked me to post first, which i did then when they got it refused to send all the money offering me half of what the laptop was worth because the batt didnt least as long as they woudl have liked. then blackmailed me with postage charges if he returned it.

if i were you i would offer him a refund and send it for a service yourself then sell it or a bit mor ;)
If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.

Your photo isn't of great quality, but it seems to be the same watch...

On his photo, the mark seems quite prominent, so if he'd specifically asked if there were any scratches, chips or flaws, surely this mark would have been noticeable to you? And, if he was that bothered, he would have asked for a clear photo showing the face before spending that much money!!

Also, if the mark is on the inside, then why was the watch taken apart at some point???? Was it a second when bought.

I would still be a little dubious about this, and rather than accepting this offer, I'd perhaps suggest he sends it back at his own cost (fully trackable)and you'll refund him.
