The Paypal 45 days is up on Saturday this week.

I would be tempted to stall him and get to Saturday when it's too late to open a dispute.

If he does open a dispute, ask him to return the watch, where you'll then have to refund him the initial cost and initial postage, but not his return postage.

Personally I stand by my previous hunch that it's a dealer trying to maximise his profit for selling it on.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I've done some digging around and would you believe it he has the watch for sale on ebay Germany for 1,750 Euros the number of the auction is 380118812058.

If i ask for the watch back i presume he will only get the £921 back for it and not the cost of the repair?

cambb- I've got an ebay account in Germany and could message the bloke with any questions you'd like about the watch?

He's said in the listing that everything on the watch is perfect except for the strap which he describes as 'almost perfect'- was there anything noticeable on the strap before you sent it? Want me to ask what the issue is with it?

Thanks for the offer. I would mind you asking about the strap and asking if it's been serviced recently. I suspect he's had the face repaired and the watch fully serviced however i'm still waiting for the invoice because I asked the watch to go to rolex for a quote however i suspect he's had the watch repaired by another jewellers.
  • Or possibly he's also a watch repairer and has used the face and glass from another watch - or had a repairer do this for him? Most repairers cannibalise non-working watches for parts. In that case, he would have been really in pocket if you'd paid Rolex service charges!

Obviously this guy knows what he's doing with watches, he sold so many of them. Course he trying it on, wait till Sat so he cant dispute you, surely he cant return the watch or demand money when you asked for estimate for repairs, which he ignored and then went ahead and altered the watch significantly.

Look on the bright side, if he returns it, the watch looks a whole lot better than when you sold it him, however he may return with swapped parts than it has now!!

Listen to good advice in future.....

I don't know why you are stll bothering with this frankly. I stick to my earlier post, tell him to return for a full refund and leave it at that. Spending any more time on this will just encourage him.
