    Hello guys :wave:

    Thought I'd do a little update today. Been a while but all is ticking along quite nicely and I still come back to this thread when the going gets tough!

    Quite a few things have happened recently. Some great and some blooming awful but I am still chipping away at the debt and feeling determined to clear it all. I am not as obsessive as I used to be about internet banking and spreadsheets as I became shortly after I started - my OH is pleased to have me back in the evenings - but I still look at my balances and willing them to go down :rolleyes:

    When I first came here, not only I didn't have a clue what and to whom I owed but the APRs were all over the place and my repayments were on DD and therefore forgotten. Today I paid off one more debt :j so now I am down to 4 creditors from 7 and although my minimum monthly repayments total £620, I seem to have paid on average £906 per month :j My salary went down by £100 per month so that's clearly not the reason for the overpayments. Seeing the light with your help, better planning and hard work all played a part.

    I was thinking about what the future holds and it's more of the same:
    * Ebay
    * Amazon selling
    * Mystery shopping
    * Spending diary and planning
    * Bulk buying/cooking for those tired/after work nights
    * More time with family and friends and not fretting over the £XX not in the budget

    Some new stuff too like....planning a wedding! :D OH and I set the date for next August and have been like smitten kittens ever since :love: We were going to wait until I was debt free (OH is pretty much there with only a couple of loan repayments left and no OD/CC) but we lost a loved one recently and we both feel we need to live more in the here and now. So, watch out for all the planning of an MSE wedding :D

    I hope I come across as positive as I feel - clearly there is life not only after debt but while in debt too ;)

    Take care and thanks for all the messages, promise to respond soon.

    Hi Moozie,

    Like purpleprincess I was wondering where you were and if you were alright. I'm sorry about your bereavement but think you are right to take stock and realise that you can't put life on hold, congrats on the wedding.

    I heard of a couple who hired a village hall and all their friends contrbuted food to the reception, sound good to me.

    Hi Moozie, just read your thread from start to finish (no, no, it's okay, I didn't really need to clean the bathroom today :) ), and I'm amazed at how far you have come in such a short time. I'm so pleased for you that you are now in a position to get on with the rest of your life, secure in the knowledge that your finances are under control. Can't wait to read about your wedding plans! Hope you will be extremely happy together and have a wonderful debt free life! All the very best, Snaggles xx

    A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
