Anyway here is a little joke Moozie to lift your spirits. And it's only because you are from where you are from that I am saying it ok?
Essex girl has a crash in her car
Ambulance arrives on scene and the paramedic shouts through the window:
"Hello love what's your name?"
Essex girl says "Tracy..."
Paramedic says "OK Tracy, where are you bleeding from?"
Tracy yells "ROMFORD! Now will you get me out of this @&^%$@ car?"Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Hello gang
It's been a while since I posted an update and this morning feels like the right time!
Over the last month or so, my mind has been pre-occupied with things unrelated to moneysaving. People close to me are facing health difficulties and I desperately wish there was something I could do to make things better.
I stopped keeping a spending diary which I found completely invaluable to start with and I really thought I had lost control over my spending again. Having done some sums this morning, I was relieved to see that things were not as bad as I thought. My main downfall has been take aways/lunches/coffee shop - unsurprisingly as I've been visiting after work, quick take away on way home and then no energy to make lunch for the next day. I budget £50 a month for all that and I spent around £130. I know it's high and once life gets back to normal, I will get back to home cooking/lunch making but I really thought it would be so much more.
My 0% CC deal (£2,254) is coming to an end in July and I applied for the BA Amex this morning for the 4.9% balance transfer rate - wish me luck! I am hoping/working towards clearing my £1,300 0% interest overdraft with A&L so that I can use it to pay a chunk off the CC which will leave only £950 to be on 4.9% for 6 months and £1,300 on 0% until April 07 (end of 0% OD with A&L).
I have gone a bit ebay/Amazon mad. It's been taking my mind off things to sit here and just list item after item. Sadly not as many sales as I would have liked but it's ticking along. Quidco is going well too. I am building up my paypal account so that I can transfer as much as possible in one go before the July deadline - to try an save on those pesky paypal fees!
It feels good to be working with my spreadsheets again. Ideally, I will have no CC/OD debt by the end of the year. I just hope I don't burn out before then and that all my calculations are right. I feel so pleased/proud/amazed to have paid off/saved £3,395 in the last 3 months. I just want to keep going but I realise now more than ever that money is important but not half as much as having those you care about around you.
So that's it really, still going for it, some days more than others but I think on balance, I am doing OK. Certainly better than I ever thought I'd be managing!
Keep at it everyone, we will win in the end xxLeason learnt :beer:0 -
I was wondering how you were going Moozie!! Pretty well by the sounds of things.
You WILL get there, and even with your eye off the ball a bit you are still doing ever-so well!!
WELL DONE YOU :T :T:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

congratulations on all your efforts so far, bet in your pre-LBM days you would have spent more on the quick meals and take-aways. It's good that you faced up and calculated how much you have actually spent.
On a slightly different note, what is the July deadline for Quidco/Paypal?Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
Current debt: £14,000.00
Debt free date: June 20080
