LIke I said Halloway - Im not here for medals and well wishers. Just incase someone else had the same thing. Besides, being hard up and screwwed by banks or spending it gambling ventures makes no difference.

A wrong agreement is a wrong agreement. End of. I am not wealthy or well off - I am as skint and looking for answers as much as anyone on here - difference is I am open and honest about it.

I dont pretend to be all "morals" and "hard luck stories"... all these threads in this forum are about one thing: getting results.

If I had a choice to pay a loan off fully knowing it was flawed or write it off legally - I'll do the latter and so would most people whether they admit it or not.

We all work hard for our money and job security is questionable in this current climate - why pay for something that is essentially illegal?

Only a mug would, and we all know that - that's why we are all on this forum - to find anwers.

I see Normanmark has made several more posts in this thread after stating that would refrain from doing so. He should work for MBNA as he seems good at talking aload of bolokks... :-)

Not heard so much rubbish in a while, good effort cashpig. So you took a card out, didnt bother reading the T&C's, obviously didnt mention to the person you spoke to that it was going to be used for gambling, sounds like they probably did give you the correct information based on what they knew, you then say your skint but have blown almost £6k on gambling which you have no intention of paying back, that's not really getting a 'result', it's the complete opposite of what this board is about.

Instead of posting chuff on a message board, why not spend the 5 minutes or so to actually read the T&C's for the credit product you took out. You mention they have written off the amount in question also, have you checked that through your unwillingness to pay back a legitimate debt you havent shot yourself in the foot and trashed your own credit worthiness for forseeable future.

Rant over, just made my hangover feel much better that.

    tut. fatty -

1 - I am NOT obliged to discuss OR get permission from MBNA upon application regarding my intentions to use the card.

2 - I stated previously that there is NO mention in the Terms and Conditions regarding gaming sites. The fact I won OR lost is irrelevent, I still would have complained about the way in which they promoted the card and the card's benefits.

3 - No one - YOU INCLUDED, are able to answer exactly why it was that MBNA wrote the debt off.? Maybe, JUST maybe they looked at the sale of it, and realised it was totally and utterly mis-sold.

I could be worth millions of pounds when I took the card out, but I would still complain about it cos its a liberty and Pish-take.

I am NOT going to be a mug and pay over the odds letting directors get rich on life long six figure pensions at my expense.

I do not need any more credit - and credit worthiness? Hmm, they decided to write it off, I never demanded it - but they did so my credit file will be restored by them when I ask for it to be.

It's their error - now stop being jealous cos YOU are saddled with debts that you can't handle and run along before your "morals" get the better of you.

    xx

Thanks AJ. Jeezzz this thread is full of do-gooding PC brigade..!

There is no such thing as "karma" clio - it's believed by the weak-minded as they give in to their inner "demons" and have no sense of self control.

I make my own decisions and live and die by them regardless of onlookers, well wishers or the opposite.

But you're obliged to read the agreement you're signing and the accompanying T&C's. You clearly didn't. See below.
2 - I stated previously that there is NO mention in the Terms and Conditions regarding gaming sites.
"Cash transaction" is defined in your T&C's. See section 16 (definitions).

I must say I'm finding your situation, as you've described it, very hard to believe.

Still, maybe they'll review their training procedures now and simply say, when a customer asks a question of the CSA, "please see your T&C's".

Well Im certain that I am not obliged to read the t+c before signing. It would be advisable though - I do not dispute that. My issue is that this was "sold" over the phone - and according to "consumer services" I was told that if they have told me something that is wrong or misleading, then they have broken the "express terms" of the contract.

i am no lawyer, but then very few people on here are.

I've looked at the terms since and I still see no area regarding gaming sites.

However, when I ask for clarity from a sales advisor, what I hear in response on FIVE occasions was nothing but simple and easy to follow rules on how their benefits worked.

They only told me the good bits that beneitted me and when pushed for more details from me, they failed to tell me about the negative parts. MISLEADING is what I call that.
