That we should let the banks fail?! Particularly a bank the size of BAC or similar? I think having your debt written off would be the least of your worries and everyone else's if that were to happen.

They are being propped up by our tax ££££ for a reason

well our point is that banks are not there in the high st to do ppl favours.

ppl rely on them because of the economic climate and they take advatage of that by screwing the consumers at every availaable turn.

this website has the words "consumer revenge" stamped all over it.

    it's right.

Well your case falls at the first hurdle. MBNA were not bailed out at all by the British tax payer.

Nope, it wasn't specific it was a generalist view. You know what I mean and being pedantic just confirms your views, in general.

As CashPig says, it wasn't specific to MBNA but to the UK banking industry as a whole. You can't sit there and tell me that you're pleased that Sir Flop is taking 16m of our tax? He hasn't even paid anything like that into the system and its a ruddy joke.

I think you need to sit down and smell the coffee.....

Yea too right we should, starting with Northern Rock. It was their chairman that came up with the stoopid idea to let people borrow 125% of their value which was ludicrous - for that alone he should hang. He is singlehandedly responsible for the upset and upheaval of so many innocent people he needs a slap, not an honour!

As for Sir Flop, let's not even go there.

We're paying for the banks for a reason too right, cos our government lacks the one skill that is mandatory for the job: BOLLOX!

Where have i said anything about the RBC issue? Nor have i said anything about whether i'm pleased or not. You're using some half baked discussion to try to add weight to the original topic. Poor discussion.

For your check list on peoples stance, i'm not happy with someone taking that kind of pension given the situation. However it'll more than likely have been agreed in his contract, long before the sh*t hit the fan.

I'm sure you'll agree that in that situation that he should stick to his contract, obviously avoiding any 'moral' situation that might arise, given the topic we're discussing.

I don't need to sit down & smell any coffee thanks. By all means you can tell me to smell it when i've spent £5600 on failed [strike]bets[/strike] sports trading.

I bank with HSBC and know that! As for shabbey, well they are thriving cos of the years of mismanagement of accounts and fraudulent trading so don't worry about those.

simple simon met a conman going down the street
simple simon said to the conman 'what a lovely place to meet'
the conman blinked and strutted his stuff, simon totally bliss
until the conman walked away, and simple simon was amiss....

i'll let you try and figure that one out being you have so much spare time to talk rubbish!

Normanmark - I love your idea that somehow I spent £5600 trading sport was somekind of bad thing? It was my money. The fact MBNA gave it to me and I chose that is not your business to judge - I owe the money as an outstanding debt. IMO, that should forego the payback as they mis-sold the product to me by blurring the terms of service. I would not have used their service had they been upfront and honest about how it worked.

I can afford to spend £££ on sprts trading and not cry in my soup over it.

Its no big deal. Clearly though, YOU seem to have some kind of issue with it.

Get over it, move on and focus on your own PC existance.

No, you mean you can afford to borrow money, agree to pay it back, lose it all like a complete mug, and then moan and cry unfair when you realise how much of an idiot you've been.

...oh and then try and boast that you are great because you think you've got it written off on an anonymous internet forum (whilst also saying that you couldn't give a 5hit about anyone's opinion on here).

You must have been some mug to lose £5600
