  • Would the loophole fan club be okay with a drunk driver killing one of their family and then at court, despite obvious guilt, get off through a loophole?

I am of the opinion that MBNA have probably 'written off' the debt for their own accounting purposes but the debt will still exist. You will still be chased for payment form either MBNA collections or some DCA.

I really cannot imagine why they would just decide to erase the whole amount simply because you complained about the terms used by some of their staff especially as they appear to not have recordings of those calls to prove or disprove your story.

Well if this is the case then once again they have misled me.

I do not care if this is the case but I will not accept that this account is a valid one and it has been totally mis-sold from the start.

To be told something and know that there is more relevent information to add but they hold back and can see that you partially understand or think you understand it to be something else, is inexcusable.

    Who mentioned a loophole?

    The law is quite clear.

Proliant I believe you work in IT.

I also work in IT and run a small business. If a representative from my company goes on site and does a bad job then I can get sued for more money than I have got. Basically if my business does not act correctly then I suffer. I am insured against this.

Why should the same principle not apply to the banks of which I am a customer.

You may not like it but we are living in a compensation culture, there is not much we can do about it.
You are correct Nick, I am an IT Manager for a firm involved with government data and I also understand various liability insurance and what it covers you for.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Ah, simple simon returns. I've noticed you lurking a bit recently, but not had the pleasure of reading your posts.

I see you have gone for old faithful - the spurious comparison to a serious crime.

I really don't think I have the energy to debunk this BS again tonight, see you guys tomorrow. Goodnight.

Is it just me, or does it seem as though Cashpig74 and aj2703 are one and the same? The same bad attitude, the same poor spelling and grammar, the same person?
  • Sesame street dweller still a pompous 'womans front' i see.

This thread is my first real experience of MSE. And I have to say, I'm loving it!

The hatred and arrogance is simply awe-inspiring!

Oh simon, you really need to think of a more pejoritive term for me tham "sesame street dweller". Admitedly, simple simon is hardly an original epithet, but it does seem to sum you up quite nicely.

Glad you're enjoying it. I do try to keep both the hatred and arrogance as light hearted as possible:D

Now I really must go to bed, Big Bird is waiting.
