eh? What has that got to do with where the data can be used?
Replication is used by Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server database servers for synchronising data between server databases’s ergo replication.
If you move Stateside or to Europe, any data from the UK will either appear as linked addresses and/or previous addresses entered, weather you declare them or not.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

i think you;re wrong there. you might be up on ur database techno talk - but i know of a guy that screwed the a bank over in ireland and came to england - un heard of in credit terms. he has no problems over here with respect to credit - its just as if he left school. ireland would be a trouble spot though, but you do know everything about everything after all..

Yeah i am sure there are people from different countries who have come here and had to start over again with their credit history.

He would have succeeded by using fraudulent data i.e. changing his D.O.B etc, could you provide evidence of this or is it just Chinese whispers?
I do not portray myself to know everything, I know what I know to date and I am always learning - even from discussions like this one, my profession has educated me well so far and I will learn more each day. ;)

In all seriousness I would be interested to know precisely what MBNA have decided in this case.

Did they write to you stating that they were writing off your debt ?

If so then they must have stated their reasoning for doing so in their letter ? I would be interested to know how they have worded this.

    Thanks in advance.

A scanned copy with edited personal data would be enough, the question is can this document be provided - probably not because judging by the flippant drawn out "argie - bargie" it seems this is the work of a person with many personal issues.

I agree and would be interested to see this.

By understanding the decision making of MBNA this may help others who are challenging their credit agreements with this provider.

NickX - all I know is what they have verablly told me on the phone - unless I dreamed it. There is a letter on the way - apparently. I have had no other letters to contradict this outcome and if I am wrong, then I am wrong, but I am sure of what I was told.

i have NO idea why this thread has been such an interest to so many people looking to stick their ore in - but NickX, like Ive said the entire time - I raised a complaint with genuine reason and after 6 months, this is their result.

It's hardly ground breaking stuff, its only a credit card - I haven't robbed a country of food..

    OK thanks for confirming this.

I am not disputing what you have said, but if no letter is forthcoming then you could potentially end up in a situation of your word against theirs. If I were in your position I would want it in writing that the debt has been written off so there can be no arguments if they do attempt to chase you for the debt or sell it on to a DCA further down the line.

It is not unknown for CSAs to give out information that has subsequently proved incorrect.

I am not one to be judgemental and have some personal experience in getting debts written off, and I am surprised that MBNA has agreed to write off the entire debt in this way. This lender is not known for its generosity with regard to defaulted accounts.

Your issue is to do with gambling transactions being classed as cash withdrawals and the implications on the Minimum Payments. There was clearly a breakdown in communications and it would not surprise me for them to cancel any charges and refund interest payments, but to get the whole debt written off is most unusual.

If this does prove to be the case then congratulations and I trust the beers will be on you
