You wonderful person!!! I like holidays in sunny places (but rarely sunbathe). When I do I can never get the blasted suncream on my back and don't like to ask strangers to help. This is perfect - I'm off to Poundland for a spatula!

Well - have to do it SME style :D

The one I got is this sort of shape. Being fairly flat is just slides the cream over your back beautifully whether you go for the "over the shoulder and down approach" or "round your waist and up your back approach". Give it a good rinse afterwards because the metals in high factor creams can make it go green! ;)
Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...

I think this thread has shown we could have a MSE board for singles. It's not just travel but all manner of MSE things which are specific to singles which just get lost on some of the other boards...

When I was single, I went to a number of places on my own, including Cuba, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Japan etc.

I loved it and its one thing I do miss about being in a relationship :p Its wonderful to pleae yourself, and I love to do that :D Get out there, youll meet so many people whether you go on an escorted tour or not.

TIP: If you really do want to be alone dot go to the dominican republic! Every bloke, his uncle and his grandad seemed to want to escort me ( and this is well away from the trad tourist areas) I did get little bit ratty :D some times you just want to be on your own & read dont you :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Hehe - I can only imagine.
Everyone has been so helpful and I am looking into everything.
Really like the look of Japan, cuba and Thailand but may try somewhere closer first. I did look at a yoga course in Sri Lanka (although fit I am not flexible but might be by the end lol)

When I was first single (after many years of marriage) I joined a social/activity group called Spice and went on lots of holidays and trips. I'm also restricted to school holidays - expect quite a few teachers then! The bigger hols I went on were:

activity holiday in the Ardeche (canoeing, walking, abseiling etc)
    skiing
    surfing in Devon
walking in Lakes (over New Year - fab time with party etc)
    activity hol in Lakes
    watersports in Lakes
    sailing on the Solent

I also did some pub nights, meals out, London trips to galleries etc.

I got to do lots of stuff I wouldn't have thought about before and made some good friends.

After a couple of years I just did the same sort of stuff with the people I'd met so didn't need the group so much.

ps I'm not very sporty but got into lots of healthy outdoor stuff, though we did quite a bit of eating and drinking too!

Thanks - I get the idea now. It's such a nuisance to attempt this on your own. And the alternative usually involves fighting off overly enthusiastic waiters!

Oooo now that sounds pretty cool, I have never done anything like that before though. Have you got any recommendations?
    Thanks
