larmy16 wrote:Bit of bad luck for me. I had a book for sale which was the only one in this country. Customer emailed me to ask if I would send it special delivery as it was urgent and she would pay difference.
It cost £4.50 to send, so I told her the difference between 1st class and SD was approx £3.51 (this was in a little note) and she could just send me stamps to cover the amount.
This morning I get an email saying that as she had already paid £2.75 for postage, she worked out she only owed 46 pence. I said it was ok - not to bother sending the 46p stamp!!!! I mean how do you even begin to explain to someone how Amazon take their cut etc??
I guess you live and learn! Shame though as I am now £3.50 down on what I could have made. I still made a profit of £8.39 on a 50p book, but it does seem ironic and I would not do the same again.
Sorry to hear about this larmy...some people just take the biscuit. I am having a proper take no prisoners attitude to selling at the moment!!!
Still waiting for that woman to get in touch about the extra postage she owes me after giving me the wrong address. I have the book and its GOIN NOWHERE until I get paid!!!!!!!
My OH has been having a lot of problems with Ebay lately...people simply being a PAIN and wanting to pay by methods he does not accept and other petty annoyances. I am glad I no longer have the time to do it TBH
Things have steadily picked up over past couple of weeks so happy anyway!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
I put my first five books on last week - heard nothing, no sales...
so last night I went for a look, and three of them had been closed :-(
I could see no reason for it so I relisted them.
Next problem is that they were all lowest price and have all been undercut - by bookshops. Mine are all new but unread so I wonder if they're getting together to teach a new upstart a lesson?
It won't work - the books cost me nothing at all so I can go as low as I feel like.0 -
I bought a big batch of text books and most i could list at £15-£20, enough to counter balance the extra postage due to the weight. But one of title, a really heavy one, had a few listed as 1p. The postage would at least be £4.50-£5. I put it in the charity shop pile.0

I have just gone to list a CD and when I have looked there are only 2 of the same listed on Amazon - one for £50 and one for £90.
Is there a website I can go and check out how much this CD is worth (I am a bit surprised it was this much but apparently ithas been out of print since 1989)
Any help appreciated0 -
I use these two sites to gain a round value (vinyl tap tend to go higher than average)

If you want some advice, you can pm me with the title and Ill see what I can find for you - but yes some 1989 CD's can be highly valuedSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -

Hi tm03,
It sounds as though there was an initial problem with the buyers payment - perhaps they typed in their card details incorrectly.
Any way it sounds as though the sale has now gone through OK - if it shows up in your completed orders and the money is in your account balance then everything has sorted its-self out and the order is genuine and OK for you to post out!
I have just had my first 'pending' order to actually turn into a sale today (after nearly 2 years of trading!) - normally mine just fizzle out and I have to end up relisting!!!!

Well, it's been another week and still no more sales.
I am suffering from no-Amazon-sales-related-depression.
*sigh*
