  • Hi spaniels - I'm afraid that there isn't an equivalent of completed listings or view counters for that matter.

Soo - yes, some people do email them to see if they can find out what the problem is. I was at the buyers side of a pending transaction a few weeks ago, I had tried to change an expired credit card number for a new one and it just wouldn't accept it and I deleted it and re-entered so many times that in the end I had to give up on that book, then correct the card details and start fresh with another sellers book and it all went perfectly next time around.
Luckily it was only a penny book and there were lots (I contacted the seller to tell him about the problem and told him to re-list as the payment wouldn't go through.
So you can email them - your transaction page has the email addresses - and see if it can be resolved, if it was a problem like mine re-listing the book for me to buy again would have sorted it out.

AT, I can't see any email address anywhere, the only email addresses I can see are for the 'sold' ones not this pending one.

Soo, here's a link for where a similar question was asked on the last thread - there's also a link to an explanation of where the pending buyer's email address is found. If it's blank there, there's no way of getting it.
  • Go to "View recent Payments transactions and invoicing history" then click by "Narrow Search by Status" and have it in pending. I think that has worked.
I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!
  • Help please!

I have just refunded a buyer whose book posted on 04/02/06 has not arrived. I have had a look on the royal mail website but am not sure about how to get compensation. I have a COP.

  • Hi Mr Clingford,

You can get a claim form from the PO, there is quite a few sections to fill in and they will ask for your COP and PO receipt (not photocopies). They will need to see what the book was worth, I'm not sure how everyone does this, if it was a penny book for example you'd want to show that the value of the book was more than 1 penny.
  • Hi everyone - thanks to this thread, I have sold quite a few books and CDs that were just gathering dust. DH is now looking nervously at his collection as I keep hinting we could make some more!

I have a question - how do you find out if a book is collectable. I have first edition that is listed as collectable but I have also seen it listed for £1.50 as used - what is the best way to find out?
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

Some people list anything out of print as 'collectable' but if the £1.50 ones are the same as yours that is probably the true price.
