OMG, What!!!!Shock, Horror!!!!!
People, I am totally ashamed and embarrased by your posts. I was buying these cloths at 4 pounds EACH!!!! Yes, you've heard well, EACH!!!!
In my local Sainsbury's and Robert Dyas they sell them for this ripp-off amount, they are Scotch Brite brand, if I am not mistaken. I feel like a total fool, I had no idea that they can be found as cheap as you people talk about.
Unfortunately, in the part of London where I live, I don't have Poundland or Morrissons, I wish I do. I was thinking of driving to these shops, but the petrol would cost me as much as any saving made, so tough luck there as well.
But now that I am slowly getting over my shock, could you please tell me how you use your cloths.
I love mine, but I mostly use them for dusting, wiping the surfaces, tiles, etc. How are they used for toilet bowl and sinks? I am asking as I use a bathroom sponge and toilet brush for these areas, and not the cloths. Are they better?
Also, any other original ideas for using these cloths? What did you find they clean the best?
And another thing (sorry, but they are confusing, these babies). I seem to have different texture microfiber clothes, some totally flat and thin, some fluffy like some teddy bear toy, some more rough and scratchy.
Does anyone know what these different textured cloths are for?
And when you dust, do you wash them after each surface, or do you keep dusting until you finish everything and then wash them?
Sorry for the long post, but I am something of MFC virging, so I want to know it all.
Thank you!!!!!0 -
aaahh! Thanks for that...been able to check out Stardrops ingredients....oh well...thats me giving up looking for them in my area then (the Stardrops that is)...2 of those ingredients are no-nos from LILI's hazard list (LILI - being Low Impact Living Iniitiative) - so theyre defo NOT eco-friendly then. But I'm guessing you will have a Tesco nearby that sells the value ones? 89p for 3.
If you can't find any pm me and I'll send you some!

As a matter of fact, Bibbly, I do have a huge Tesco near me, but I have never been able to locate these cloths. I will have to go again and ask a member of staff, as that would be unbelievable saving from what I was buying up to know. Even on ebay, I paid much more for them (high postage).
Thank you for your offer of sending me some, funnily enough I was thinking of that last night to ask someone if they could send me some. But I am sure I'll find them in Tesco next time, it is so huge, I used to give up too quickly (I did not know the cloths would be such bargain, though). I'll let you know, but thank you, very kind of you to offer.
I am really looking forward to hearing some cleaning tips for them, especially in the bathroom, as I still use old old fashinoned sponge/brush there.
Thank you!!!!0 -
Well let me know if you can't locate them!

Hi Bibbly,
I have found them!!!! They were in the cloths isle, but the value pack (89p) was right at the bottom shelf, and pushed back from the edge of the shelf, so if one did not know what they were looking for, they would have been missed so easily.
Of course, all other fancy ones, in expensive packaging were right at the eye level, includining the single Tesco microfibre cloth.
So I bought both the single one and the value pack, because I had noticed that the value pack is made out of slightly different fabric, and I also loved the colors of Tesco single ones. It is also a bit bigger but I am sure both are very good.
So, looking forward to trying them, thank you very much for your pointers and thanks everyone for stopping me throwing my money on Scotch Brite (even though they are VERY good).
Gosh, I never thought I could be so excited about cleaning cloths, sheeesh.... but they are brilliant, and everything that cuts the cleaning time is the winner in my books.

I have a lot of microfibre cloths collected over the years. I bought new e cloths, which do a fantastic job. The secret is to spray the surface to be cleaned with water and the fibres then do the job.
I do the kitchen floor with a microfibre mop. One dry to dust and one wetted with a spray to clean
I love my microfibres0 -
***UPDATE*** on Tesco MF cloths
O.K. guys, I have tried them.
The value pack is good, especially considering how cheap they are, but the real winner is Tesco single pack one, which I think sells for 99p.
It is bigger, more absorbent and comes in some beautiful colors, so good for allocating a different color cloth for different surface. It does as good job of cleaning as much more expensive Scotch Brite brand (although, I like these too for different purposes, they all feel and clean differently).
The value pack one are not bad for smaller jobs, detailing etc. But I find that the more expensive ones are much better, they hold dust better, are more absorbent (so they don't drip and streak), require less repeat motions for cleaning etc.
Overall, all of them have their place in my house, but I prefer slightly more expensive ones (eg. single pack Tesco rather than the value pack) as personally I can see the difference in their cleaning/drying/dusting/absorbing ability.
Long live Microfibre!!!!0 -

I too love micro fibre cloths, but my best use for them was
As cool cooling neck/wrist ties in Walt Disney World last year
I washed them out each night then took them wrapped round our water bottles secured with an elastic band. When we were too hot/the ice had melted in the bottle we wet them a bit more in the drinking water fountains and cooled ourselves off.
I saw loads of people with expensive necktie thingys which did just the same job, you know the ones with crystals in.
Have to admit to some feelings of superiority while there0
