It is always advisable to do a hot wash once in a while through your machine to kill 'bugs' etc. see another thread so wash them at the same time. Also a good soak overnight in bleach between times.0

Thanks aycor. I do a hot wash about every 6 months (I read on here that was all it needed if you used soda crystals and vinegar - which I don't use every time but I do use frequently). I'm didn't know you could use bleach on these cloths. Thanks for the tip. I don't bleach often (I'm a greenie I'm afraid) but I do use Ecover bleach every so often to get dishcloth looking better. Reckon its better than using too many dishcloths. Otherwise I just put boiling water over it every day (as directed by the professor who suggested putting them in microwave to kill the bugs - apparently boiling water is just as effective). I've just re-read my reply.Well how sad is my life. Thanks for the tip about bleach. I'll go for that.0

Hi
I posted on here last week about microfibre cloths and my post was removed so I added it on to the end of this thread as I wanted some advice as to what are the best kind etc. And now the mods have removed that post too. Can someone please explain why. I read a lot of moneysaving and whilst I have only made a couple of posts, the two I made on this one have been removed   :rolleyes:0 -

Hi raspberry,
Only one of your posts has been removed from this thread and that was because it was a duplicate of a post that you have posted on the Shop but don't drop board recommending a particular company.
I've looked at the deleted post and can't see where you are asking for advice. However if you want to find out which are the best kind of microfibre cloths feel free to ask or read back through the thread.

I'm sure it's been said before, but at 89p for 3, Tesco value MF cloths take some beating :j Unless you have a supply of HM knitted cotton cloths!

OK no problem. It might have been nice to have explained that to me. Sorry for the duplication.0 -

I recently bought a microfiber sports towel from Dunelms. It feels a bit funny, almost slimy but it works really well and doesn't take up as much room. Bought it to go in the caravan for when I wash my hair as I don't take a dryer but is equally effective after a shower. It dries quickly too so I am getting another one. Will still use the terry ones for every day though - if only to use them up.0

I had one of those from Virgin Vie, they do take a lot of getting used to. They do do a good job, but just feel so alien, partly because they aren't completely dry to start with. I still prefer my big bath towel, I like a good brisk rub dry, especially on my back.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0 -
A word of warning about putting coloured microfibre cloths in a mixed wash - In my experience the colours seem to run. I clean mine by boiling up a big pan of water and putting it into the sink and then soaking the cloths in that, with a little bit of washing powder, for about an hour. Then I rinse them through in very hot tap water and dry them on the line (or on a radiator if its winter). They dry really quickly IMO.Jane
