How soft are the Tesco Value cloths? Would you use it to remove polish from a car?
Car cleaning branded ones are ridiculously expensive....0 -
I despaired with proper hand towels in our downstairs loo, and changed to using microfibre cloths. I now have a stack of them on the shelf and under the shelf a little laundry net bag hanging for the used ones. They are `one use only`, and do the job. They are cheap, and quick to dry after going in the washer. Mostly, I find this SO much more hygienic I wondered why I`d not thought of it sooner!
I then decided to do away with all teatowels and go for the same idea in the kitchen. Poundland do a pack of these cloths in various colours, so it`s no bother to colour code which cloths are used in which place.
Anyone else got ideas for these cloths?0 -
Don't throw away your microfibre cloths just yet, but the jury is still out on just how hygenic they are. They are very good for cleaning, but at a recent NHS cleaners conference in London we had a question and answer session with a leading microbiologist and we raised the question of why these cloths werent in more widespread use.
The reason for it was that under closer microscopic inspection, the microfibres seem to be very good at harbouring micro-organisms (such as MRSA) and as such could be very difficult to remove. (MRSA can survive for a year in dust and become active again).
Although studies are still beng done on this so if I hear anything I'll post it up.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
Hi Emm,
I use mine mainly for cleaning windows, mirrors and other glass around the house. You'll find lots of uses for microfibre cloths in this thread:
Microfibre Cloths
I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

not a problem. When i first learnt searching i thought it was the most complicated thing in the world! HOnestly. Once you get it, there will be no stopping you.
Then you learn to search with different words - i remember explaining it before here how i found these links
If you need any help with it i'm more than happy to help
I only have one microfibre cloth and i use it to clean my kitchen shelves! I steep it in bleach and washing up liquid mixed . I have another one i used for waxing my table so its covered in beeswax! Lost the third one:oA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hi, I've been wondering about these since seeing them mentioned on here and have found some in Wilkinsons today but it says you don't need to use any cleaners with them, is this the case?0
