Thank you for all the support - I know it is such a small thing to be so stressed about, but I couldn't have got this far without you lot!!!
Little bear, contrary to expectations, does not want to nap. Little bear is a grumpy bear.
I purchased a dvd of action songs (which only cost £4.50 inc postage, but I am not sure I have got my money's worth) and I will put them on and have a little play, then dive downstairs and wash some pots (worse than you , LoopyLinz as I have all today's to do as well) then some more action songs, then some swishing, then some more action songs... Or it may be a cuddle between each activity. Poor little bear seems under the weather. However I feel really great!
LoopyLinz - unless someone has experienced pain and depression it is very hard to understand how bad it is, especially if you can't put a bandage on it. Also your mum may be feeling frustrated because she wants you to feel better and doesn't understand what she can do to help. My inlaws didn't think there was anything wrong with me except I was stupid and lazy - even when I was in mental hospital. You need to remember that they are wrong, and you are right, no matter how bad it all makes you feel. Hugs.
Well I have put a lot to say I only came on to say thank you for all the support I have had.
Hugs to all!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
No idea about the UK education system I am afraid...are your children choosing subjects for GCSE? Ours have a similar exam at around 15/16 but normally do at least 8 subjects, dropping to 6 or 7 for Leaving Certificate at around 18.
Marie
Hi Marie,
Yes they are just choosing which subjects they want to study,( they do it aged 14) they have to do the core subjects, English, maths etc, and then they can choose which extra subjets they want to study, which was 4 extra in my dd's school, but it does seem to differ from school to school, they will then study for GCSE's in all of the core subjects and their chosen ones. Hope you and DH are well xx
Sybil, well done on getting out I hope you have stopped shaking now xx
Lamewolf, nice to see you xx0 -
Reverbe, your flat mate is ordering you to do his housework???  , no one has the right to order you around, go out for your walk and s*d him.
Could you not suggest to your OH to meet up?, you could meet him / her halfway, I am sure it would make you feel better, take care of yourself hun, and make sure you eat xx
I have tried to suggest that to OH but we are not really in contact. I have been asked not to call as the phone stresses them out even more and even if I was to pay my way up to see them, they say they do not have the energy/will./time to see anyone - due to their stressful job all they want to do is eat, sleep, bit of shopping and laundry when they get a day off. They normally play World of Warcraft but I think that has also gone by the by.At the moment the only contact I am allowed with them is email but they have not replied to the one I sent them at the end of January.
OH doesnt really talk much even in person. Thanks everyone who sent me their best and hugs. I feel really guilty for feeling sorry for myself for a few minutes when people here have real problems. I am lucky that I have my health and am just griping about being on my own.Just ignore me.
Well done Sybil btwWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

I hope things get better and that you hear from OH soon.

If the school were so impressed they offered DH a job, could you not "persuade" him to give it a try? It might be easier than waiting around for relatives to sort themselves out and sounds as if he would be appreciated.
Gave DD(15) home made pizza in her pack up box so she seemed pleased with that.
Bedding is on the line outside as are another load of towels. Have turkey mince for tonight so might make mince and tatties for a change as DH really likes it and it has turned cold.
Took books back to the library this morning and took out two books on planning for retirement - hint for DH, lol;)

Way to go WS . Now, just let the wobbles wobble and then they will pass. What a great achievement. Well done you!
Linz - don't clean and tidy - I agree with the others - let the person who is coming see 'real' life for you, so don't make yourself ill trying to tidy. I wonder if your mum just wants you *better* and is frustrated that she can't make that happen. ((((hugs)))) to you.
Lovely sunshine here and I have washed the bath mat and hung it on the line:D.
I also went to the library and got some books which look interesting - one is called 'The Philosopher's Dog' and I've started it. It was in the philosophy section (yes, I know that it would hint that in the title:p) - stories and thoughts around links with people and their pets - or maybe just the author and his pets. Anyway, sounds interesting. The other interesting book is 'The Quiet' by Paul Wilson. ....hhmmm... the cover says 'Four simple steps to finding peace and contentment- without spending the rest of your life on a mountain top.' I'll let you know how I get on with it! The other two books are those easy read novels when you just want to lose yourself in something.
I got a bus into town and then walked back. I'm sure the fresh air did me good but my legs weren't half wobbly after having this lurgey. Still, I'm home and had a nice glass of Rib*na. I know how to live it up

If you are having to do all the household tasks anyway, could you not get a job as a live in housekeeper or cleaner or something?
I rephrased this a few times so as not to sound blunt but I am  and  at the thought of you sleeping on the floor!

Used to be able to visit every coupla weeks or so, now after 5 years I haven't seen them in person since last May. Last contact i had was an email in late Jan and a msn message and phone call (I called them) in midish Jan but they have never been one to call/email etc or write. I have never had a birthday or xmas card from them. It's just the type of person they are. I guess I can't change them at their age - also according to their Mum their ex spouse really did them over so I don't think anyone will ever get the same kinda thing out of them again - you know cards, letters, affection etc. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -

They don't answer my calls anymore. They unplug the landline always have due to cold callers driving the dog mad. Mobile calls go right to voicemail. I was asked in an email not to call them as apparently the phone stresses them out.
Oh I know why I haven't seen them - it's due to their work. They are very understaffed and have had a recruitment block for the last 18 months. They are managerial and work in a very pressured environment where the fate of hundreds of jobs is in their hands and whether or not they get and manage to hang onto contracts. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
