i have a question for Obukit... i have signed up for PriorityClub... registered for the "stay 2 nights get one night free" offer.... now i have booked two nights in Glasgow and Edinburgh in early April with the Leisure Offer...
what should i do to get that bottle of wine you mentioned ??
thanks a lot
You should get a voucher for a large bottle of house wine with your keycard when you check in. There shouldn't be anything else you need to do. You will get your Priority Club points "topped up" to 25,000 points (enough to stay at any IHG hotel, or up to five hotels if you choose a "Points Break" stay) around mid-June.
From our intranet: -Hotel Action
One free bottle of wine is given per room booked on rate category ISHC1 and subject to proof of PCR membership.
One free bottle of wine voucher (enclosed) is to be issued to guest on arrival. Guests can redeem their free bottle of wine as per hotel instruction.
Please fill out all the details on the voucher before issuing to guest.0 -
I *think* early departure relates to quitting a booking early, rather than quitting a room in the early hours, i.e., booking in for a five night stay, but leaving after only two.
As to F&F rates, it was my impression they're discounted room rates, not discounted "package" rates (for example, F&F rates -- in our experience -- are all room-only except where breakfast is clearly specified, as with Express by Holiday Inn.) On which basis, a room + airport car parking facility would seem more like a package???
We've always used holidayextras for hotel / parking packages, though I'm sure other posters can recommend other websites. Holidayextras is currently featuring a HI Express offer for the dates you're looking for at Liverpool (the £83 offer, not the second offer at £98):
http://secure.holidayextras.co.uk/hotels2008/c/availability?agent=WY992&product=hcp&request=21&profile=HX&Referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.holidayextras.co.uk%2Fairport-hotels.html&form_type=combined&lastseopage=hcp&Nights=1&numCarParking=1&groupOrder=0&version=quick_wins&googleCode=&lang=en&selectProduct=hcp&Location=LPL&ArrivalDate=22%2F04%2F09&ArrivalHourMin=1830&DepartDate=30%2F04%2F09&DepartureHourMin=1930&RoomType%5B%5D=D20
I can't see any Crowne Plaza Hotel ever coming in near those prices and to be honest, if you're departing early for a flight you're probably not going to get much value for money out of so relatively short a stay in such a comparatively expensive environment.
Anyway, Kit's the expert here!0 -
Thanks YorksRabbit

As they said, an "Early Departure" fee only applies if you check-in than leave earlier than intended. We very seldom charge it, it's only really to stop people coming in and saying they'll stay for a month, negotiating a discount then checking out the next morning. Checking out in the early hours won't be a problem - all IHG hotels have 24hour reception desks and if you ask most will arrange an early breakfast for you too.
Unfortunately Friends and Family rates are promotional and don't include breakfast - if you contact the hotel directly they should be able to quote you a price. When I've done this in the past it's cost me a £15 supplement including bus transfers - obviously that's for an employee and it might cost a little more depending how much pressure the hotel have on their car park etc.
You can compare the normal Park, Stay and Go rates against normal rates to give you an idea of the supplement a hotel will charge.
Good luck getting it sorted - any problems please let me know.

Hi Obukit - wonder if you can help - looking for 1 or 2 nights Edinburgh or north for w/e 10/11 July - going to the Saturday at T in the park - and can only find one hotel with offers ? the holiday inn - on FF rate - is it because I am too early?
Thank youTitch0 -
i'm contemplating changing my booking that i've got at the HI in Edinburgh for next week, as i'm staying there 2 nights.. but, i don't earn miles/points, and why should i let my company benefit from a cheaper rate, when they are paying it anyway... time to contemplate... i could upgrade to an exec room... though i'm hardly going to be in it..
anyway.. thanks for this post!

Hi Kit
Re: Cheapest for multiple nights: TWO FOR ONE (book before 5th May 2009)
I've tried booking on the website, initially it gave me rates for numerous hotels as low as £50.00 but when I clicked a hotel, it then changed to this
I've been trying for a couple of days, but just keep getting the same reply from the search engine.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

Promotional rates tend to be finalised any time up to three months in advance so it's quite possible that there might be more to come - although with big events any discounted rates can also get snapped up quickly as well. I'm afraid it's a bit of a gamble either way. In general though what I say is if you're happy with the rate book it because then there's nothing to worry about.

If it keeps happening it doesn't sound like that - sorry for the bother it's causing. I couldn't check because I don't know where and when you wanted to go, but if you either call the hotel directly or Central Res on freephone 0800 434040 they should be able to book it for you - let them know you want to book "IDEX1" rate.0 -

Had a stay in Birmingham this weekend, used your Friends and Family form. Worked perfectly.
