    hi,

i just checked in today at the Express at Glasgow Riverside, with the rate booked from your link. The manager there has no idea about the bottle of wine deal, he also called somewhere (to his supperiors) and nobody was aware of this. Can you recommend any actions for me, to get that bottle of wine ?? :)

    thanks
Are you sure you're booking the Leisure Saver rate? This is the only rate you get a free bottle of wine with.

If so, then I'm really sorry - I can't speak for other hotels but all the details are definitely on our intranet - ask them to search for "ISHC1 wine" on Merlin and all the documents, vouchers and General Manager's brief are there. If you have any problems getting your wine you can always call Head Office Guest Relations on 0870 4009292.
it seems like i can get an even better deal if i book my whole trip (flights and hotel) through lastminute.com and still stay at the same holiday inn in nyc...

am i getting my calculations wrong or are there any drawbacks to doing thngs this way?
Travel agents have special rates arranged and you may find booking a package with flights through them is cheaper than booking each separately - these are just one way to save money :). Hope you have a great trip to New York!

    Hi,

It's a bit difficult to recommend a hotel without knowing where in Hong Kong you'd like to go or what standard of hotel you are looking for. However, as an example, staying on 1st December for 6 nights at Friends and Family rate: -

Holiday Inn Golden Mile - HK$828.75/£72 approx (reduced from HK$1,300 normal price)
Express Causeway Bay - HK$627.75/£55 approx (reduced from HK$930 normal price)

I hope this helps - remember to always check the hotel on Tripadvisor before booking :).

Thank you, is the above estimate price per room?

Just a heads up that Intercontinental hotels have been in touch with us, to say that MSEers can have access to their special friends & family discount offers, until May 31st 2009.

Is this the same thing? Thanks

Which basically means that they've cottoned on but will honour bookings for the next two(ish) months.

    Hi,

Yep, the price is per room - double rooms come with a double sofa bed and the hotel can provide cots for you, subject to availability. There's no supplement for children and breakfast is always included for everyone in your room at Holiday Inn Expresses - at all other hotels (Intercontinentals, Holiday Inns), you pay per person, though often hotels allow children to eat for free.

Yes, it's exactly the same rate. Each person has an individual link which counts towards their hotel, as all hotels are "racing" against each other - this link is for Tony Bainbridge, Senior VP of Human Resources at Head Office. You'll get the same price through either link although obviously if you're like to help me and my colleagues at Express by Holiday Inn Oxford please use my Friends and Family rate link, thank you! :) (I would post a photo of our reception team but I don't want to scare those of a nervous disposition )

Obviously also check Leisure Saver and Two for One rates as these may be cheaper - full details are in my first post on this thread.

Exactly :). You can book up to a year ahead and as long as you book by the end of May the rate will be honoured. IHG may well extend beyond then anyway, depending on what the marketing team decide - I will update the dates as soon as I know anything.
