thanks just to check.
Also is it a deposit or the full payment you pay now? its a bit confusing.
Yep, you can only make bookings until the end of May, but those bookings can be up to a year in advance, so booking now for the end of November is not a problem at all.
The full amount for your stay is taken in advance, and you lose all of this if you decide to cancel, which is why it's really important you're sure you're coming before you book. However, if you do change your plans, most hotels will let you move your booking to a different date - although this is at their discretion and they don't have to do it.
The deposit is taken any time between when you book the room and when you stay. If you're worried about not knowing when your card will be charged, some regular guests put the wrong expiry date or use "dummy" credit card details, as the website only checks the card number is valid - your card is charged manually at the hotel.
This means the hotel will call you for your card details when they're ready to charge it. Obviously I can't condone it, but it's certainly useful if you want to know when they're going to take the money, rather than leaving £hundreds sitting in your current account.

I've just recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in East Kilbride, after a few mishaps to start with, the hotel charged us double for the room, even though it was on the 2 for 1 promotion... I called them and they apologised for their mistake and refunded the money within 3 days. Overall I was happy with my stay, it was a lovely hotel in a spacious room.
We're up in Glasgow again this weekend so we booked the same hotel on the same 2 for 1 promotion, I couldnt believe this mornign when I checked my bank statement and they had made the same mistake AGAIN and charged us double.
Do you know who is responsible for this Kit? I've phoned the hotel 3 times today and everytime I call, they tell me I need to phone the central reservations as its their booking. I know this isnt true though as last week when I had the same issue it was the hotel who resolved the problem. Central Reservations cant deal with it.
Is this a common problem? Cant believe thats twice in the space of two weeks!0 -

At least for UK hotels the price quoted includes VAT. For other hotels if there is any tax it should be shown when you make the reservation, although it does seem to vary quite a bit - for instance, when I was in Tel Aviv although the website quoted extra tax to pay they didn't charge it for foreign guests.
On the screen where you type in your name and address there is a link under the price saying "View estimated total price" and this should break it down for you.

I'm really sorry to hear this - I can only speak for my hotel but this certainly shouldn't happen, understandably guests get annoyed at wrong charges to their card and so we're always extra careful when taking deposits. Deposits are taken manually at the hotel so it's not right you're being told to sort it yourself with Central Res.
If you can PM me your reservation number (it should start with a 6 and be eight digits long, e.g. 61234567) then I'll speak to the hotel's manager tomorrow for you and get it sorted - if it's happened twice to you it must have happened to lots of other guests which certainly isn't acceptable.0 -

If it's the Holiday Inn breakfast isn't included I'm afraid, however, if you ask for it at check-in they should give you a cheaper price than paying for it in the morning.
If it's the Express by Holiday Inn it does include a complimentary continental buffet breakfast.
Hope that helps - enjoy your stay!0 -

There are currently two offers running, to sign up for Stay twice, get a free night please go to: -
http://www.priorityclub.com/freenight
and enter your Priority Club number. Please note this will only count from stays from now on - if you email Priority Club member services they may be able to help you further.
With regards to the free wine, I'm really sorry you didn't receive this - I have passed on my concerns to IHG so hopefully something will be sorted.
In the meantime you could contact Guest Relations or else IHG Marketing by emailing emeamarketinghotline@ihg.com or calling 01895 512 501 - they are the people responsible for promoting this and so they should be able to sort out something for you to recompense you for the inconvenience.
I hope that helps - please let me know how you get on.0 -
Thank you so much Obukit.. I booked the hotel through friends and family and the parking and transfers direct with the hotel saving me £21 on one night stay and 15 day parking.... Woo hoo..

Hi, Just to say a big thanks. Just returned from night at warrington. Although staff didn't initially give us a bottle of wine, when we questioned it they gave us a voucher for a bottle which you collect from the bar.
Lovely room, got free cooked breakfasts (said continental on booking form) and executive pack comprising of chocolate bars, crisps, water, toiletries etc. Total cost £48 for 3 using leisure booking.
