Hi Obukit, I hope you don't mind me asking, but I've just realised the holiday inn I booked abroad is apparently the wrong one and i know it cannot be transferred. Now they cannot at present charge my card as I lost it and am awaiting a new one. Will they simply just release the room, or would I still be liable for the costs, if i don't show and pay for a room at the other one, as I don't want any legal action, lol. Thanks
    Hi,

I can only speak for my hotel, but for us, if we can't charge the card we try and contact the guest. If we can't speak to them, or if they say they want to cancel the booking, we just cancel it. However, other hotels may work differently - it's probably best to email them explaining the situation so they at least have a chance to resell your room.

I booked Holiday Inn Cardiff for 12 people in 3 rooms for 2 nights. The total price came up to £405 which included:
    £315 Rooms at £105 each
£90 extra person charge at £15 each.

I have used the 2for1 offer.

Having just checked my credit card online I have been charged £495. This is due to the extra person charge for the second night. Are they allowed to do this? Shouldnt they notify me first and isnt it a system error? Is they any way I can fight it so they honor the room at £405?
    Hi,

I don't have the booking in front of me so I can't comment on whether the hotel is right or wrong, but (assuming from your post you're already contacted the hotel) you should contact Guest Relations, who will be able to handle the case for you.

If you check on your email confirmation it should have a total price for your entire stay - I'm not sure what it says here but the hotel should honour that.
Does anyone know if a voucher is needed at check in if made a booking through this link. I think this link might be different to the F&F link but i just wanted to check
    Hi,

You only need a voucher for Friends and Family rate, all the rest you just need to turn up at the hotel, preferably with your email confirmation for surety.

    Hi Obukit,

I used F&F link to book a room at intercontinental. I booked a standard room and now want to change it to club room with lounge access. The reservation page has an option of changing room/rate type but only provides an option of switching to a different room at a non-discounted rate (i.e. advance purchase or best available) which is more expensive than the F&F rate for the same room.
Do you think I can switch to the best available rate, which allows cancelling the reservation, cancel the reservation all together and make a new F&F booking for a club room? I am not sure whether I would be able to cancel the reservation which was changed from F&F to best available without incurring any penalty?
    Many thanks for your help!:-)

Thanks Obukit, I've booked 4nights in Norwich for 4 of us for £200. Its cheaper than travelodge or premier inn and with a pool too.

Why not just pay with credit card and then immediately make a payment to that credit card from the account to which your debit card is associated?

Because i'm paying a blance off on it and it will add the purchase onto the back end of the balance and not pay it off untill the rest of the balance is cleared.
