Hi obikit
I was wondering whether you could tell me whether the 2 4 1 deal includes breakfast i can't find it anywhere! Trying to compare if the main promotion would be cheaper i.e £99 for 2 nights b and b and dinner for one night.
Also can you tell me what the policy is for numbers in a room? I have 3 children aged 5, 3 and a baby therefore including hubby will be 4 + baby some hotels are ok with this a lot arn't stayed at ashford recently and they were fine! But when rang warwick before they said it wasn't possible.
Any advice
Thanks0 -
It depends on which hotel branch...some of them have breakfast included (like Holiday inn express) you can always call the hotel and ask which I think is the best way of finding out
*If you like the advice I give...let me know by clicking the THANKS button*

Promotional rates don't tend to include breakfast, unless it's at an Express by Holiday Inn, in which case a continental breakfast is always included. So, if you've booked any other hotel, unless it specifically states breakfast is included you'll have to pay extra I'm afraid.
As to number of people in a room, as you've found out this can vary a bit from hotel to hotel. Normally if you click on the room type you're booking on the website it will tell you the maximum people per room, but many hotels will waive this if you want to be in the room with your children - we certainly do. It's best to contact the hotel you're booking with to confirm this as I'm afraid there's no standard answer.
Hope that helps!0 -
Hi Obukit,
Could you tell why it states as below when I try to book our accomm @ vancouver canada in Nov. Thanks. Two for one offer.
The requested rate is not available.
Forgot my manners :- Thank you.
Answered my own question! doh! stayed upto August. I'll have to do the F&F just like the far east instead. Will email them & see whether I can have the family in one room as well.RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -
Thought I'd add my two pence worth to the thread
have just returned from a friends & family rate weekend in Northampton
2 different familys went arriving at different times
(1 x 21:30hrs and was asked for F&F print out voucher)
the other arrived at 02:30hrs and "NOT" asked for F&F voucher
Thanks again to Obukit for original post and advice
have used it twice, both bargins at the time0 -
My first post and would like to say bit thank you to Kit. Have just booked my ex and two boys into the Express at Knowsley at the end of July for £33!! Unbelievable.
Now, having read some of the comments, have a couple of concerns:
1.0 -
Oops, apologies! having paid for the room on my debit card, am I right in thinking that this will be used as pre-authorisation for any costs incurred on the night? Is there any way I can advise them that they should not use this card and to use my exs? Will he be asked to show the card used to pay for the room? Bit of a problem as I wont be there and wont be giving him my card! lol
Hopefully can all get sorted with a phone call.
Many thanks0 -
Hi all
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I've just been pricing up some hotels for next year and they are coming back at very good rates.
If I book with the friends and family code, what happens if this person no longer works for the company by the time I travel? Would it be honoured?
Thankls

It's probably worth calling the hotel just to check as some want to see the actual card when you check in for security - if so they can usually accept an email from you confirming you're happy for the card to have been charged.
Some hotels also preauthorise cards in advance to speed up check in, so it's worth asking them to leave a note on your reservation to prevent this happening. Your ex can then either leave an imprint of his card, or can ask to check in on a "Cash only" basis, e.g. he will have to pay for any drinks or meals at the time.
I hope that helps - contacting the hotel directly should sort everything for you.hieveryone wrote: »Hi all

The voucher only asks for a name (e.g. Kit Waites, Anthony Bainbridge), and this isn't verified by the hotel, so there won't be any problems - once booked your rate is confirmed and will be honoured as long as your card isn't declined when the deposit is taken. It's probably worth saving or printing a copy of the voucher now, though, in case they remove it when the promotion finishes at the end of September.
Hope that helps - I know it seems a bit strange booking Friends and Family rate but IHG head office have expressly given MSE permission to post the link so you won't have any problems.

So the promotion finishes but as long as you have booked before then it will be ok right?
I've saved quite a bit in a New York hotel and one in Memphis so I'm super pleased, thanks so much! x
