    Hi,

Have you checked your Spam folder?

If it's not there, you can call the hotel and ask them to look up your surname - they should then be able to give you your CRS confirmation number. You can use this, along with your surname, to view your itinerary and resend yourself a confirmation email if you'd like.

    Hope that helps.

    Thakyou,
Just gave them a call and they have sent me the email now :T

Another grateful MSE fan passing on their thanks for this post.
I have been searching over the last couple of nights for hotels with family rooms in Munich and was on the verge of booking a Novotel hot deal at £93 per night when I happened upon this thread.
Thanks to Kit I have now booked the Holiday Inn which has two queen beds in the room versus a double and sofa bed at the Novotel for 93 euros per night on the 2 for 1 deal.
    Many thanks again. :T

    I've been Money Tipped!
Thanks for posting the link in your fist post for flyer talk. I spent all last night reading up on all the different codes and offers, hopefully I am heading for lots of points!

I have already got 2 nights booked at the C/Plaza in Dubai for later in the year, all paid for by points.

    Hi,

IHG have given MSE a new link to use, in the first post of this thread, to consolidate all the MSE bookings. You need to use this link - hopefully that should work for you :).

    Hi,

Normally the hotel will call you, however, because it will be overseas it's possible they'll just leave it and ask you to pay at check-in. It's probably worth emailing the hotel to let them know and ask how they'd like to proceed just to make sure they don't think it's a fraudulent booking.

Do not email your card number though as this isn't secure - if required you can always make a duplicate booking with your correct card details and ask them to cancel the other booking.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Obikit,

thanks so much for posting the links, typically for me, they came to late as I had just hit the trigger on the reservation. Is there any way to get the booking I have just made modified over to these? From the booking it appears not.

Also (sorry to ask this) but is the 'friends' rate real? At the Intercontinental in San Fran its basically letting me book a penthouse for £50.... I don't want to rock up and be charged $1500 dollars a night :)

    Hi,

Do you know what rate code you booked? If it's "Advance Purchase" or similar I'm afraid it can't be cancelled unless you change your card or something else so the hotel can't charge you.

You could try calling the hotel directly and explain that you booked the wrong rate by mistake, but in the end it's their discretion as to whether they'll let you change it I'm afraid.

As to whether the rates are real, once booked the price you're quoted is fixed. It's possible to get some great deals simply because a typical hotel will be managing hundreds of rate codes, across different websites and mostly through an old "DOS" style interface. As such, it's quite possible that some rates "fall through the cracks", so to speak, giving you a great deal - the best I ever got was £1 a night for an executive room with free breakfast, wine, flowers, a private jacuzzi and four poster bed... it was pretty fab! :p
