Just booked a one night stay in Cheltenham Holiday Inn using the Friends and Family Discount. Just hope I remember to take the voucher as it's not until the end of July and I forget what I am supposed to be doing tomorrow, let alone in 2 months time  Thanks guys for the post though. Mucho appreciated as I saved £12 from the normal online cost :beer:0

I booked 2 nights in Barcelona before I saw this post. My question is, if I cancel my other booking (I can cancel with no penalty) which I booked through a 3rd party, can I book 2 for 1 by the link on this site assuming the accommodation is still available. I have an unusual surname and would be using the same credit card. Also, which would be the best way of doing it - to book the new 2 for 1 and then cancel my old booking, or cancel my current booking first (my only concern being I could then find myself without any accommodation and even paying for 2 nights was good value compared to the horrendous cost of most hotels in Barcelona).
If I didn't have an unusual surname I probably wouldn't be worried but just concerned the hotel might not let me do this as obviously they will only be getting half the money or that I'll get there and find I haven't got any booking at all.0 -

Definitely book the two for one deal before cancelling the other one, as you certainly don't want to find out you don't have any room. I hope you have a great time in Barcelona!0 -
Thanks very much for your quick response. I've now booked 2 for 1 - 2 adults and 2 children for 85 euros inc. breakfast - don't think I could beat that. I'll cancel my other booking later. Just waiting for confirmations to come through.
Once again, thanks for your help.0 -
Hi Obukit - i'm planning on booking the holiday inn sarasota in florida for 4 days starting on the 9th of June, Have you got any codes and tips how i could get this cheaper?
thanks
Because this hotel is in America rather than Europe it's a bit outside my speciality, I'm afraid - there are three HIs in Sarasota so I'm not sure which one you were planning to go for. You could try checking an American forum like FlyerTalk for details of special America promos, or Friends and Family rate should work there too as it's worldwide - details are as follows: -Friends and family rate - FRIENDS AND FAMILY RATE (IHG endorsed link) (book before 31st May)
(N.B. Search on Google for an alternative link if you have problems with the one above.)
This rate is open to Friends and Family of IHG employees - the link above was sent to IHG by a senior manager so is okay to use.
You need to print out a voucher and fill in the employees name as "Anthony Bainbridge" and the location as "Denham Head Office".
This link typically gives about 40% off normal rates, although people have reported up to 50%+, so always check this route! Please note you don't get Priority Club points for these reservations, which means you won't receive any qualifying nights towards promotions such as "Stay twice, get a free night" (above).0 -
