Many thanks Obukit, just got back from Spain, early flights from Girona, so spent the last night at the HI Express Girona, one junction away from the Airport.

Got the F&F rate, 40 Euros a night, the girl knew all about it and asked for the "voucher". Breakfast not as good as the one at Park Royal last time but filled us up enough to avoid Ryanairs overpriced offerings !!

Thanks again for sharing with us

    Hi
I am trying to access the voucher link but receive a message 'The file is damaged and could not be repaired'
Has anyone else experienced this and know a solution?
Is there a special link to book this offer online?
    Thanks in advance

im sorry but ur wrong! anyone who tries this WILL be told its an online only booking! go ahead an try if u want an thats not the correct central reservations number!

again ur wrong u work in 1 franchised hotel... u dont speak for Holiday Inn

so so wrong! ur hotel may not ask this but they should! just cus u dont abide by the rules dosnt mean the rest dont either! if u guys choose not to take a voucher you will be charged the full rate of the room (u have been warned!) they do not get one faxed over! its an online booking for gods sake! is the computer gona fax it??? i dont think so! you need to stop tellin me to stop giving out the wrong info an start tellin the truth yourself! you HAVE been reported to MSE for informing these genuine unsuspecting people of the wrong information! an potentially costing them more!

for gods sake guys abide by the rules! you can see urself from the booking link its book online and the vouchers MUST be present but its ur money an if u want to take the risk on the words of this idiot then go ahead but i guarentee you you wont be happy an you will be posting back here in a few months, after your stay when u did forget ur voucher an u had to pay more!

ur here for the discount after all so why put yourself in a position were u will end up paying more! as you will be charged the full rate at the time of arival which is always more anyway!

    its ur choice!

I'm not sure what your motive is, but as far as F&F is concerned it is you who is wrong. I have used this offer and taken the voucher with me. However, I have never been asked for the voucher and the invoice issued shows as being F&F rate charged. I have never then ever been charged extra on my card at a later date.

    Are you jealous perhaps?

    Hi,

I've tried taking out all the complicated form stuff from IHG's version of the voucher - perhaps try downloading this one instead: -

    http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mylg0wittoe

It should look identical when printed, but you'll have to hand write in details.

    Hope that helps!

You may be clued up on the theory, but the practice seems to be somewhat different. I think that the numerous examples quoted within this thread are ample proof of that?

Surely you are not suggesting that there are so many incompetent and negligent Holiday Inn managemnt and staff out there as your posts infer? If so, perhaps you should be highlighting this to your senior manager's or to HQ? If you are suggesting that this level of incompetence is apparent in such a simple exercise as asking for a voucher then what is occuring with more complicated matters? How can I therefore be sure that such incompetent and naive staff (and management) at hotel site level can be trusted to handle more important issues such as a Credit or Debit Card payment correctly?

I think you are just scaremongering and would do better to say nothing and let individuals make their own minds up about the level of "risk" they wish to carry.

  • i don't normally register to forums (don't like my details to be on the world wide web) but iv been reading theses forums for a long time now and have had some fantastic discounts an after seeing obukit's post for holiday inn i decided to use it for a stay in Bristol with the family as we were going there anyway!

however somehow my wife forgot/lost the friends and family voucher and my discounted stay of £80 turned instead into £149.99! the reception staff were very rude an the manager told me that when booking the friends and family rate it clearly stated the voucher had to be shown at check in and as i didn't have this i then had to pay an extra £70! or leave as it was a pre-payed rate i couldn't have a refund!

subsequently i have now placed a complaint agenst kit with there guest relations department as he said it didnt matter if i didnt have this voucher but low an behold it dose! so i urge you all not to forget the vouchers as if you do just like me you could end up having to pay more

i will never use holiday inn again either!
