sorry they have closed the offer!!!0 -
Hi
I opened one of these accounts this morning but I have also received a letter from ING telling me of the same offer. They have given me a promotional code to enter. www.ingdirect.co.uk and the promotional code to enter in the box is ING376.
I don't know if it works or not but it might be worth a try.

STOP PRESS! 4 March '09 11.40am. As expected ING has closed the loophole. We managed to send out 2.9 million of the 3.3 million emails before it dropped it so well done to all those that got the deal! Any similar offers will always go in the free weekly MoneySaving email.0 -

They said that if you didn't get your customer number, just put your full name and address on the back of the cheque and that should be fine. So you should be ok. Also, the man I spoke to said that if you applied before the offer ended, you would still get the £20 as long as the funds from your cheque were in your account by the 13th. Hope this helps.

Then have to follow withdrawl process which by the way won't be that easy with a savings (dont expect a debit card in the post), then have to cancel the account. Enjoy all the time on the phone to call centre hoping they have a free call line. Then you get to open junk mail every month from them for the 7 years companies keep customer data in there database, or until you move.
or you can just say nah forget it, and have a cup of tea and do something you enjoy, forgetting about the £20 that you thought you scammed a bank for, who actually are the one running to the bank laughing (just to end with a punn;)
It's the same principle though, you think clicking and printing a voucher is worth a few pounds saved for you to have something to eat; so you're doing exactly the same thing as you're taking up an offer from a company in order to make/save some money.
Having the gall to say anything even mildly derogatory to others doing the same (regardless of how much effort they put into it, as they obviously thought the return was worth it - just as you do for your click and print vouchers - and pay for (normally) expensive printer ink to do so) is pure hypocrisy in my opinion!Lost lbs =

It will be quite tight if it's cleared funds - posted this evening, in the mail tomorrow, cheque arrives Friday 6th, then there's 5 working days for it to be processed and cleared :cool:0 -

If the bank were laughing - they would not have pulled the plug would they?
You might have more money than sense, but this was an easy £20 and i am gratefull.
Add it to the £100 from alliance & Leicester, who also gave me a free overdraft for a year, and its a good do all round. :T0 -
Really it looks like greedy children in the playground. These offers would always rely on not having a huge take-up. Posting the information on sites like this will bring about the inevitable early closure of the scheme. We are in an economic situation now which was brought about by people living beyond their means, or beyond their entitlement. Even if these offers are made, it is hardly a responsible attitude greedily chasing after them. What on earth did people expect to happen?ClaireDC wrote:Having the gall to say anything even mildly derogatory to others doing the same (regardless of how much effort they put into it, as they obviously thought the return was worth it - just as you do for your click and print vouchers - and pay for (normally) expensive printer ink to do so) is pure hypocrisy in my opinion!
