I done this at 6am this morning so did my partner at 9!!

    Lucky we both got in!!

£40 for a £2 that you can withdraw!

I didnt think the offer would still be up this afternoon, thanmks to the MSE staff for bringing yet another loophole to us, the masses!

Its time for us consumers to take something back from these companies.... and we are, in style!

I stated they planned it, alternative was it was a crack. But that's up for debate as discussed early.

but in response, next time you leave your house window open i'll pop in and take the dvd player. You chose to leave the window open!? But there are different personal to business ethics than personal to personal I guess!

This has been fun. Enjoy a good debate. Enjoy your £20 each.

This annoys me so much, they make millions and millions every year and they have made this offer for people to take up!

It is there for us the consumer to take.

I guess I'll be alone but I think taking advantage of someone's mistake is not very nice.

Clearly, somebody at ING made an error and, thanks in part to MSE, it has cost them dearly - or rather, it will cost their real customers dearly.

There's a line that needs to be drawn between 'consumer greed' and 'consumer revenge' IMHO. The banks are in real trouble at the moment and kicking them while they are down is out of order - again, IMHO.

    GG

Are you serious? The banks are in trouble through whose fault? Oh their own and their greed. And now thank's to their huge incompetence we are now having to bail them out. I think I am entitled to £20 back TYVM!!!

It's a pity we're not playing Monopoly – "bank error in your favour, collect £200"!:rotfl:

Surely its not even a £2 outlay though as the £2 is to open your accounts so you can withdraw that too:confused: Or have i got the wrong end of the stick?

I applied at 9am this morning but missed the customer number on the confirmation page :embarasse

I've written my name, address and date of birth on the back of the cheque. Has anyone else done the same thing?

I had the same problem and I just got off the phone with them. They said that if you didn't get your customer number, just put your full name and address on the back of the cheque and that should be fine. So you should be ok. Also, the man I spoke to said that if you applied before the offer ended, you would still get the £20 as long as the funds from your cheque were in your account by the 13th. Hope this helps.
