  • Horsey, Kitty I Just did this - x 2, applied for husband and myself, as we have a joint account, used all the same details, incl. pins etc. for ease. Seven minutes = £40.

I'm still trying to get it to successfully progress beyond the first page! I guess their servers have gotten incredibly busy since Martin's email went out!! ;)

Great offer, just opened this with an account for me and one for OH, his last address was non-uk but they didn't seem to care and haven't asked for any further ID details.

    Thanks Martin

Ive just opened mine, still no email but I have completed the cheque with the numbers shown on my last page of application as requested.

I am going to use it as a savings account as all my money is tied up in one bank at the moment. I will do a DD for £100 a month and try to forget about it.

Is the money easy to transfer back to your current account when you want to get access?

Thanks Pat and Dinah - will get onto it at once!
  • Don't be deterred if you are an ex-ING customer, you can still get your £20!

As others have said, you can't open it via the website as it recognises your details and assumes you are an existing customer, even if your account has been closed for some time as mine was.

BUT I just opened one successfully via Customer Services on 0800 376 8877. Very helpful. Only sticky moment was when she wanted a promotional code - safest to say you saw it on THEIR website.

Ker-ching, thanks Martin - makes up for my DH being clamped yesterday:mad: .

Seemed nice and easy, wait to see if the £20 arrives.
  • I did my online application 20 minutes ago and just received an email confirming and telling me to send a cheque, didnt ask for any other id, all very easy and quick.

Thank you Martin, what a great offer.
