I have opened an account - no problems.

Think I may continue to use it too - just a fiver a month towards birthdays.
    It all helps!!
    NEVER ASSUME!

When I posted about this before Christmas when my wife received an unsolicited mailing from ING the cynics were quickly on to my back asking if I worked for ING.

For what it's worth our story is that my wife opened her account and got her free £20.
They then wrote to her and offered her £25 for every one up to three friends she introduced and they would qualify for the £20 bonus when their account was opened.

Result was that myself and our 2 sons opened accounts so for a total family spend of £4 my wife received £95, I and my two sons received £20 each so the family is £155 better off !

I'm still waiting on them offering me £25 for every introduction I make!

Easy peasy yet the glass half full brigade could only criticise. Thanks, Martin for getting the herd on the case.
  • Thats me sending off for me and my wife.....trouble is my cheques are coming from 2 different JOINT ACCOUNTS. The terms say a PERSONAL current account, will this matter?
June 2016 - Pair of Brooks Glycerin 14's
July 2016 - Annual family pass to English Heritage
August 2016 - overnight spa break with dinner and breakfast for two
    September - BBQ toolbox
  • Hmm, just completed it myself, just send off the cheque, no ID for me.
Does anybody get any mention of the £20 promotion after the original landing page you click on, ie do you get any mention of it after you've setup your account? I haven't!

I have sent off for myself and received my confirmation email. Have advised sons to get off their backsides quick and open one each. Can my hubby open a single account writing a cheque from the same joint account as I did?

CCBG - Yep, I remembered to print that page, glad I did as I don't know how I would get the account details again.

mark_dumpleton - No ID either, I'm the same, the £20 offer was on the landing page but wasn't mentioned again. We'll see :)

Hi I have just applied for this account. On the site was asked to send a cheque to them and to write customer no. and account number on reverse. I was not asked for any security/proof of ID. Nor have I received an email from them (yet). only did it 15 mins ago though.
    Great find Martin!

    Ditto!

Will be sending my cheque off tomorrow, hope it works!
