Thats not quite right. They pay 0.5% cashback and for the first year. However if you have a current account as well they will pay an additional 10% of that 0.5%, not 10% cashback!0 -

So are actually saying its a 0.55% cashback?
Almost half the cash-back given by Amex, Egg, Morgan Stanley....perhaps not such a good deal then?I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Has anyone else got the Conran MBNA cash back (profit share) card as recommended on the MSE website. Today I received a letter advising that MBNA are taking it over after the March statement and the account will no longer earn any more Conran profit shares. So beware if you are a user of this card, no more cash back!0

I had a letter from MBNA today as well saying the same. It finishes on 31st. March, shame on them. Now I have to apply for a new card somewhere else. :mad:0

The same happened to me with the Thomas Cook card - MBNA took over - their 'points' are only worth around 0.33% 'cashback'. TC was worth 1.5% (now only 1% with the new version of the card!) I cancelled my MBNA card now have Amex Platinum and just got Egg as well.I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Got the same letter :-( Boo!
Seems like we get the March statement, then no more cash back points...but we will get the points = pounds we've accumulated so far, so it's not like we spent loads of money for nothing....Shame really I was totaling up quite a bit and looking forward to a pay out...only got the card in November....so looks like it's off to Egg....who else is coming? :-)=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
After 5 years and £22K dept, I'm in the black and saving!

Me too, I got a letter from MBNA today. Time to go for an Egg...0

I was just reading the T&C of the Egg money card and is seems they charge £2 for each paper statement...that's right, two whole Great British pounds for a bit of paper that tells me how much I have spent with them! I'd want each one printed in gold leaf for £2!
Guess it'll be internet only for me then :-(=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

A couple of other things to know about the morgan stanley card:
- not only is it hard to get, they are very stingy with the credit limit.
- be very careful about using it abroad - if you use it without giving them at least 24 hours warning they will refuse all transactions.
- I haven't checked recently but you can't change the pin number
- Customer service is always a slightly stroppy and unhelpful
Apart from that it's fine!0
